Summer's Night

In the brightness of summer’s daylight,
the luminous star warms the world with constant rays.
Allowing the new day to come to life,
by bringing the precious gift of life to each new day.

Summer’s day always ends with satisfied sighs,
allowing each day to be better than the last.
Resulting in none other than a daily high,
made by nothing but good times and pure laughs.

A spell is cast on those in Summer’s wave,
forcing optimism in everyone in its wide path.
As if happiness flows from within Summer’s rays,
a joy that is so great no one can try to force back.

On warmed days such as this,
I find it easy to say the world is in an inevitable bliss.
Full of interesting awe inspiring twists,
such as an unexpected Summer love’s first kiss.

Truly nothing compares to the warmth of Summer’s daylight,
Except that of the sheer incomprehensible delight,
That is none other than a true Summer Night.

There is nothing like Summer’s Darkness,
the beautiful Moon revealing itself against the sparkled sky.
To often has the injustice been witnessed,
That a mere diamond in the sky, to truly detail, is fairly shy.

Nights still warmed from the bright day passed,
Left over from the Sun’s constant heated beat.
Quietly sitting on a sunset painted path,
Watching the Moon take over right at the Sun’s feet.

Forever She Dreams

“Forever She Dreams”
By: Christian Shepherd

I want her back in my arms,
to feel her breathe on my neck.
Her every breathe detectable on my chest.
To hold her close from leaving me.

Watch her as she sleeps,
to hold her close in a slumber so deep.
Watch as her expressions tell a dream,
her temporary reality.

Tell her to "sleep tight love,
I’ll see you in the morning."
Wake up to her by my side,
without her my heart unforgivingly bleeds.

I don’t want to be without you,
the thought brings melancholy.
I want you with me,
"please don’t leave me,” I plead.

But its too late for pleas,
fate has already made its judgment.
Now she is forever gone,
and I am empty.

I still bleed.
I wish I could go back to her.
Savor every moment i took for granted.
But for now my heart still bleeds.

Lying at night kills me,
looking over where she slept.
Seeing her figure in the shadows,
knowing only that it is wishful thinking.

Still i reach over, hoping to find its rest.
I pray that rest may be her shoulder.
The shoulder that I used to cry on.
The should that now could stop my pain.

Then anger stirs inside of me,
"WHY HER! COULD YOU NOT LET HER BE!"
She was mine, not yours,
its not fair, let her be, bring her back to me!

There’s no way, fate has made its choice,
and now forever she dreams.

So for now…until the blood runs out...I bleed.

Harlequin Romance

Young love shows,
youths true foolishness.
So desperate to be found,
in each other’s ignorance,
to often they drown.

Too quick to say forever,
too young to know the truth.
They place everything,
on the trust of another,
willing to die for what they
are not sure is even true.

They promise the future,
when they can’t control the present.
Say they will last,
when they don’t understand,
the inevitable anguish,
Of a harlequin romance.

To these imprudent people,
I do suggest, nay I do beseech.
Do not assume the future perfect,
Life is life, complications arise.
Hope for the best,
But for any challenge,
Be prepared to rise.

Unless, that is,
You want the world to think you fool,
In which case stand idle,
And continue,
On your false assumptions,
To everlastingly drool.

Passion

It is nothing more than desire's fuel,
a means to an end, a means for one to reach,
that which without, life would surely be dull.

It gains dominion over the body; a wave of unfightable heat.
Once the fire has been ignited,
the desirous goal shall be reached.

For passion is the drive in all emotion,
but is especially vibrant while in desires reach.
However strong and intense the feeling may be,
it is still in fragile love's unlikely grasp.

As pronounced in today’s evolved history,
as it was in the star-crossed lovers desperate clash.

Whether one be passionately desirous, or passionately in love,
the emotion shall explode with a passionate rush.

Leaving the emotion in its most extreme state,
allowing one to destroy with hate, or with love, to create.
