God Will Help Me

I don't know how to overcome temptation,
I don't know how to overcome my fear.
But I know that you know my situation,
And most importantly I know your here.

I don't know how to rise above the waters,
I can't seem to find my way back to the shores.
But I know how much you love your daughters,
And I know that I'll always be yours.

No matter what the devil throws in my way,
I know that I can find my way over it.
Even though things get harder everyday,
No matter what I'm not going to quit!

Cause I know the power within me is greater,
Than the weapons of my enemy.
And I know that the almighty Creator,
Is my protector and He will help me.

Our Beginning ~july 17th, 2003~

Today is the day that I let your love in,
Today is the day that we really began.

Today is the day we started dating,
After a month of me keeping you waiting.

I wanted to be sure that you we're the one,
My days of meaningless dating all done.

I prayed God please let me know, "Is he for me"?
I was tired of being hurt by others you see.

And God whispered, "DeWayne" into my heart,
He told me he is the one you've been waiting for.

So that day July 17th, two-thousand and three,
Is the day things really began between him and me!

Then just one short year later, we we're married,
All my fears from past relationships at last buried.

We began a life together based on love and trust,
We knew without a doubt there was no one else for us.

I was the only girl for him and he was all I wanted for life,
My world was changed completely when I became his wife.

But we wouldn't be here now with our thee children,
If it wasn't for God being in the middle of, our beginning!

~sleepy, Silly, Slumber~

I'm sleepy, but my eyes are opened wide!
I get in bed and crawl under the covers to hide.

"Shh....did you hear that"? I ask."I heard something"!
"Oh, it was just your imagination", you say..."it's nothing".

Okay I whisper, and I close my eyes tight!
you whisper "Do you want me to turn on the light"?

"No," I say and slowly peek out over the top of the cover at you.
"Then go to sleep," you say annoyed! And that's just what I do!

"Hey, what was that"!? you ask jumping up out of bed!
I laugh at you still half asleep, as I sleepily shake my head.

"It's nothing"! I laugh, "Come back to bed now".
"Okay". You say still unsure, then like a macho man you smile.

"Don't worry baby I'll protect you, if anything happens tonight"!
I laugh and then ask you, "Do you wanna turn on the light"?

"No, I'm fine, I certainly don't need it, what about you"?
"I'm good" I say drifting off into dreamland where dreams come true.

"Mommy, Daddy,"! We hear a shriek! "I heard a loud noise"!
I get to their room quickly and that's when I notice the toys!

I point to their toys all thrown in one big pile behind the door.
I bend down to pick up his dinosaur thats buried on the floor.

We all share a good laugh and get back to our dreams in dreamland!.
Maybe tomorrow night we can repeat this all over again!

My Break Room

I can't take the heat I need to cool down,
Can't take this anymore, so tired of falling down.

I reach out to you and everything is better,
Then before I know it, here comes the stormy weather.

"Oh, God I need a break", "I can't take this",
Then He reminds me that my life is His.

"Give back to me what I've given to you", I hear Him saying,
"You give back to me though worship and praising".

"I'm taking care of you, please do not interfere",
"And please don't question if I am near"!

"Rest in my break room, a secret place all your own",
"And don't leave until you feel strong".

"In the break room silence your voice so I can be heard",
"And soften your heart so that it can be stirred".

"Rejoice in my presence lay your burdens down on me",
"In my break room chains are broken and people are set free"!

No Second Glances

You know the old me
But I promise she's history.
I'm not going to be -her anymore
She's just a memory.

Well you have my whole past
I hope that the memories last.
Cause I am falling fast -in love
He really is the best.

I know you use to sweep
Me right off of my feet.
Smile, steal my heart again -And you'd
Make my whole world spin.

But he's changed my lifestyle
And it would take more than your smile.
So if we meet again by chance -please remember
Theres no need for a second glance.

3 Little Angels

Some days are so long and, I may think of giving up
But I find peace in their smiles and instead I worship

In God I find strength to try to be the best that I can be
Because He reminds me that 3 little angels are looking up to me.

I won't sit around crying when things don't go my way
I have to think positive and keep a smile on my face.

My life affects them so I'll proceed with prayer and cation
I know second chances don't come around too often.

When I wanna quit and just feel I can't be strong
I see 3 sets of eyes, Brown, Green and Blue cheering me on.

Then I feel God's arms around me telling me that I'll be alright
And my 3 little angels watching with their faces shining bright.

Forget

So confused and hate it, Faced with so many things that no one else understands.
Reaching for comfort, A little peace, And a map of your plans.

"Forget", It's not as easy as it sounds, Can't get these things off my mind!
It drives me crazy, Lord, please help me sleep tonight!
