Opemipo Akinsoyinu Poem
Allahu Akbar!
Heads rolled, limbs frayed, wow!
An ocean of blood, Allahu Akbar!!
Their reason for the season
Martyrs of wiles on these simple lie
Allahu Akbar! 20 virgins tiredly waiting,
Fresh tomatoes winking
it is I
Allahu Akbar!!
Peace in white, simplicity adorning
God in man, man in God
Emmanuel
Will peace through these heathen rise?
Or shall their Alleluias ring? Allahu Akbar!
From the east, their tiny star shone
Dome, doom, mime, maim, gbom!
Allahu Akbar!!
Shoulder to shoulder they stood
Allahu Akbar!
Echoing in splaterring flesh
God in man, man in God
Allahu Akbar!
God is the greatest
Senile man plays God
fixing the wrongs of who,
Allah?
Fireworks in their sky
curl up before lightening kiss the thunder
joy immeasurable facing the star
winking tomatoes screaming I
Je suis Charlie
The Ka'bah, so peaceful
see how it stitches the world
with bombs and explosives
from Baga to Paris
peace offering chanting
Allahu Akbar!

Opemipo Akinsoyinu Poem
Hashtags polling
virtual war, viral
naija stand by
wait!
Fall they will,
like pack of cards
in the face of cash
Sandcastle disco!
Sing-song voice, rings hello
trained roll of the tongue
cultivated baritone
a pitch here and there, emoting
Back in chains
tongue under this blade lies
cool, feeling cool,
hugging the chains
listening to the Cool FM
What a way to be cool?
Mangling words
tangling slurs and extended 'r's
silent 't's revving
superiority screaming
welcome back
Voice picked out of the box
tailored, washed&Iron dried
even those whose fathers'
couldn't afford a tube
told stories of summer school
in harmattan
Gonna, wanna, perhaps fonna
from the mastery of their tongues
came out slightly, then wholly
half baked sausages
dropping with a dum!
announcing back in chain
Laugh, they laugh at 'my fellow widows'
her version of English mimicry worthy
strength of character makes a wife
not the slurred 'r's and dimmed 't's
Don't get it twisted
So the next time she comes
thinned out at her vitals
'nasal-ing, tangling& mangling' words
be patient to tell her to untie her knots
before cavorting you to sleep in peace
back in chain your fathers bled off their necks

Opemipo Akinsoyinu Poem
The curtain tears at the centre stage
On a dancing mother and her saddled baby
Birds whistle, trees dance as the cock crows
The fire, whir, caresses her to ash
The new sizzling act oozing panache
The herald of a new dawn
The snoring clouds will give birth to a novel day
Poco a poco, the journey commences
Whoa! He makes it to the cast in life
The number one movie in the box office
See! The smouldering sun, fireballs everywhere
The boy, a man, a lion...
Rolling in the deep
Solomon please last forever
Progressively the day bids farewell as the sun fades away
The stage illuminates in her consummate intimacy with the moon
Basking in the euphoria of virginity long lost
Solomon, a boy, bag of bones
The moon wax stronger as the night crawls in stealthily
Zero, oh! Oh, zero! Time of reckoning calling
The weary act takes a big bow as the centre stage closes
And his shadow fades back to oblivion.

Opemipo Akinsoyinu Poem
Check at heaven's home
To sort the fragment of what it is
Bathed in Venus
Idyllic
Hat askew to see the heart
Change gear
Flutters
Drums harder
Uh! My chest
Hunky
You sparkle
Glittering like a million stars
My diamond
Twister
Head turner
Beautiful Liar

Opemipo Akinsoyinu Poem
MY DAUGHTER'S VICTORY
A lie
A deceit from hell
Basket filled with lies
Lies still in his grave
A misery
Talk the walk
A wise fool
Very faultless
An Infidel
Sticks to the pants that feeds him
Scratches his feet on the ground
Like a day old chick
In quest of a corn seed
A beast
Better caged up in the zoo
Barks, a dog
Bites without instincts
Apologetically useless
Oh! my unborn daughter
Bonded in the spirit
It hurts anytime it flashes my mind that
Angels have also had their fair share
Of the tyrant head
I cry
But, I find solace in the fact
That my daughter is I
Well groomed, properly taught and well fed
My daughter, my love, my life
I can't wait for the extermination of man
That glorious morn when my daughter and I
Would smile at his fall at the foot of his grave
Celebrating my daughter's victory.

Opemipo Akinsoyinu Poem
I got lost in his eyes
As its hot stares flushes through my soul
Eyes evoking want
Needing care only I can give
In his eyes are sanctuaries
Built for my long long sleep in his arms
Eyes filled with so much of me
Devouring, savoring every ounce of my being
In his eyes of yoke
Waiting divinely patiently for me
I pray looking deep in his eyes
I watched yoke of want fleeing with her wings
His eyes my paradise my stay
Where I love to live all days of my life
Oh...Oh... his eyes
Nesting my heart
Eyes shrouded from other cares than mine
Oh eyes! Eyes of yours
Where I delve to find solace in pains
Eyes o eyes
Eyes ubiquitous
Everywhere for me to see

Opemipo Akinsoyinu Poem
Smiles in face pale
Benign heart fades to black
Smart and sassy
Opportunist at her peak
Bottomlessness of ingratitude
Shambles of shame
Shadow of wrath
Empty filthy air
Heartless hopeless
Tomorrow 'll come
I'll see what it would be
With you at the wheel
So unbelievable
I toiled,I worked
I endured and I...
But it's hard to believe
I'm the butt
The gun in your hand
Fire away without care
I don't care how it hurts
Wished I had known better
Well doesn't it serve me right
Lost in close empty chase
Trying to better what's lost
Spoilt forever and ever
Forever forever and a day
Forever forever 'll make a way
Forever forever I 'll say
I did enjoyed the burnt stake
I thank God it's now
In shaky heavy heart
Leaping relentlessly to stop
Nothing for grabs
Nothing for keeps
The mannequin and her sword
Piercing..oh pincer tear away in mercy
The long long battle set
We shall see how it goes.

Opemipo Akinsoyinu Poem
Every scene leads to nought
Fazes out at the very sight of you
For how long would I shield you?
Oxygen
A river gathering no moss
What we share, tranquil peace
Far beyond human comprehension
I’m lost without you
Weakness down to the limbs
Numbness in the marrow
Voice in gasps, rustled, grounded
Rooted to a spot
Fluttering heart, usurp thoughts
Me in your guard to guide
Anywhere you lead I follow
Do I’ve a say?
Lounging, awaiting you pass-by
My reverie, shaped, sharper
The look in your eyes
Fazes out scintilla doubts
Exclusively yours I’m to do as you please
Toss to and fro as your halo leads
My halo, my guide, my guard
I’m yours…

Opemipo Akinsoyinu Poem
Walk unpacified strides gently down the way
Moves unpredescented glides gently for the foray
Eyes locked, gaze in a lustful guise
Black gentility melange smiling eyes with a touch of topaz
Fingers tiny in a sexy set unison of a kind
Beautifully and wonderfully made
Longing to disappear
Flee with lips spitting "hi's"
The golden turn, smile of an angel
Oh,what a beauty Monalisa would chide from
Ravishingly raw wound with strewn muscles
Drew me closer than I ever thought
My erudite scholar won't you read me?
Read me like your long long array of books
Shelved and stashed away in places you alone can reach
I noticed you from go...
The day the mountain came to Mohammed
Ever, ever fresh in memory for keeps
As I'm carefully left alone to sort out
The left over of my thoughts
Would I ever let go of you?
I wonder

Opemipo Akinsoyinu Poem
Wake up! Wake up!! It's dawn
Time crawling stealthily slipping away to oblivion
What a doom lies awaiting treasure keepers
Oh,what a doom
The world's listening ear has no choice
What an opinion do you think she has
When all she can do is listen with her hitching ears,
Begging. Indeed can she wait any longer for your manifestations?
No.
Ripe is the hour
Yellow like fresh bananas from Benin
Pick it up and don't let it die
Here is a challenge to be your best
Please don't settle for less
