My Two Sided Story

You all say I'm the devil,
But he says I'm a saint,
You all say that he loves me,
For something that i ain't

You all say I'm a nuisance,
Even lower than a weed,
But he says that I'm everything,
That he will ever need

He says that I am beautiful,
Even better than Cinderella,
But you say "Get your eyes checked mate,"
"Feel sorry for you fella"

He says that I am kind,
Even to the paparazzi,
But you all say that I am mean,
Three times worser than the Nazi

He promised me his everything,
His life, his heart, his all,
But what have you guys done for me?
You've tripped and made me fall

But I think that i should thank you,
Because in the end,
You've taught me how to be myself
And not to just pretend

Something To Live For

It’d doesn’t matter if you have faith or not,
Sometimes it just helps to believe;
Believe that miracles can happen,
And that dreams do come true,

Sometimes I know it’s hard,
When you just want to give up,
But I live knowing,
That only if you can dream, is life worth living...

The Mask

I once knew a little girl,
She was innocent and pure,
But pains of many bites and burns,
Have changed that girl for sure,

She always used to cry at night,
Her pillow getting wetter,
“It’s alright I’m sure”, she’d always say,
“Things are bound to get better”,

But as she grew she learnt,
That this was not the case,
So she changed and built a mask,
That would cover her true face,

This mask did help protect her,
From all emotional bruising,
But never did she suspect,
All the things that she was losing,

One day a few years later,
She took off that strong mask,
But no longer knew the girl underneath,
“Who is this girl?” she’d ask,

She’d cried that night only wishing,
She could go back to that day,
When she’d made that mask of cold heart,
And throw it far away,

But by then it was too late,
The damage had been done,
She’d lost that girl from underneath,
The one that was bright and fun,

So she decided to do the next best thing,
Get back what she had lost,
And though troubled by the future,
It was worth all that it cost,

Though she’d tried so hard,
Can I say they are the same?
The new girl and the first one,
No I think not, what a shame,

Though I do say she is better off,
Then those who still wear that mask,
But how should I know such a thing,
You probably do ask,

For I was once that little girl,
The one that made the choice,
To lose the mask; begin again,
And regain her old voice,

The moral of this story is,
That there is no worse pain,
Then losing yourself and realising,
That you have to start again,

So just know one thing for sure,
And take it all from me,
That when you’re at your purest,
Then you should just leave it be...

As I Stand Here

As I stand here, I see you walking with her
Your hands entwined in hers
I only wish that I could be standing there with you instead….

Your smile lights up my whole world
But I know it is impossible for you to ever actually be smiling at me
I can only hope…

You enter my dreams with a smile on your face
And as I sleep, I start to smile too
But once I wake up I start to cry because it was all just a dream

As I stand here I say good bye
I look at your smiling face one last time
You will always be in my heart, just somewhere where it no longer hurts…

Blind

Sometimes it does well to wonder,
Or maybe just sit down to ponder,
What it'd be like if the world were blind,
Just through the eyes, but not through the mind

What if no one could really see,
What looked like you or looked like me?
Do you think then maybe it would show?
The true beauty of the world we know?

Maybe appearance wouldn't matter as much,
As opinions, ideas, thoughts and such
The things that truly do shape who we are
Whether skinny or fat, prim or scarred

We'd know by the words, the actions, the heart,
That we humans have not just the art,
Of lying, deceiving, prejudicial misleading
But of faith, of trust, of honest conceding

Maybe then history would've not been as tragic,
As to lose such hope, such beauty, such magic
Maybe then the natives, the indigenous, the slaves
Would have never been left crying in their graves

Maybe then the world could be a better place,
If eyes were not a feature of the face,
So what if everyone were really blind?
I don't think I would really mind...

I Didn'T Think So

Who said that you could decide my life for me?
Did i grant permission for you to choose?
Who said that you could make my decisions?
Did i let you decide what i lose?

You came along and just thought,
That i was easy, too raw,
But I'm telling you now,
I'm like nothing you've ever seen before...

Who said that you could say those things for me?
Did i give you any right?
Who said that you could do that to me,
And i wouldn't put up a fight?

I'm telling you just one more time,
Just making sure you know,
Did i ever say you could bully me?
I didn't think so...

Loving To Hate

I hate the way life treats people,
Unfair in the strangest ways,
Allowing good people to suffer,
And the bad, to be happy for days,

I hate the way life acts,
Adding damage to where it has been done,
It tears up hearts and rips out souls,
And destroys all sense of fun,

I hate the way life goes,
Killing people that don’t have to die,
Letting innocent people suffer,
Forcing loved ones to hurt and to cry,

But I love the way life happens,
They way two people just meet,
Their love can bring them happiness,
True love, without deceit,

I love the way life flows,
With memories deep and true,
To remind you just who you are,
And to always, just be you,

I love the challenge life gives,
Makes you brave, courageous and strong,
To bring out the best in you,
Cause you’ve had inside all along.

I love life for making me sad,
Make me suffer and cry and scream,
For giving me hope and beliefs,
So I can always dream...

You Decide

Just because she blames me,
Does that mean i did it?
Just because she doesn't like me for being me,
Does that mean i have to change?
I cna be annoying,
I can be a pain,
But SHE is a hypocrite

Just because she calls me guilty,
Does that mean i am?
Just because she says so,
Does that mean it's true?
She is more experienced,
She has more rights,
But I am innocent

Just because she's mad at me,
Does that mean i have to repent?
Just because she hates me,
Does that mean i should go commit suicide?
I didn't do the right thing,
I made a mistake,
But I didn't do the wrong thing either...
