Solace

Suddenly, at ten years old, I woke in the night,
Seeking answers to the most daunting thought.
Some parents ease the mind with their own faith.
Soothing words could not be truthfully spoken by my kin.
Son, all we know is life, and then we die.
So we find a way to live; we too merely try.
Suffering remains, so to the faithful I say: I understand why.

Absurd Love

Eos laughs, lifted by her progeny,
Dusk receives; his hands don't reach
The wind blows; laugh for this

Proximate Impressionists

Van Gogh is gone in solitary strokes, so the éclat escapes and fades when you stand too close.

It never leaves

Dearest Ancestors, elders, concerned with the ways of the world,
Clearest for you, the pain you know, you see again unfurled.
Disappointed in the dream you once held when young,
It's annointed to us now, even if our feeling's wrong.

Wisdom you wish you could wield as your strength has waned
Hear it in the children, when they once more say: we hope to gain!
Oma, you have worked and loved and lived in good faith,
So I, want you to know, youth's reach is in its wake.

Reflection/s - Turtles on the Beach - SK

Turtles on the beach,
From burrows called by the moon,
Drawn to the sound of the sea.
Morning comes too soon.
Shadows of curved trapezoids,
Appear on the sand ahead.
Now they're caught between,
Never born and surely dead.

I'm struck by an unknown rush,
At ten years of age.
Golden laughter leads me to,
Put my feelings to the page.
Found after recess,
With everyone standing there,
Subjected to ridicule,
Love stings those who dare.
Who claims life or love is fair?

Never Say Never

The Way is silent,
It was not to be, nor was it not to be.
There are no questions,
Not even a word.
Never say never,
I know that I know nothing.
Being is in Becoming.
So is life.
Paradoxical.
So I will say these things, so I will live, as only the nonsensical can make sense of this.

To learn

Ancient wisdom,
Gives modern heroes,
What if not house nor ship?
