Ocean

OCEAN

I wake up everyday on the shore of a great ocean
I stand on the edge of the ocean as
the waves come up and crash against me.

I stand there everyday without fail
And, without fail, the waves come.
Sometimes there are small ones
Sometimes there are fun, medium
Size ones that I play in and
Sometimes there are giant ones that
Come and knock me down.
But I know that even the largest of
Them will all return to the depths.
I do not resist.

The depths are the source for all these waves,
But I never see these depths.
I only see the ones that are crashing
Against me here on the edge.
I do know, for certain, that every wave,
Without fail, returns.

The ocean is vast.
I only know about the waves
On the very smallest edge.
Beyond these, is the source.
My destination

The Man of Many Feet

THE MAN OF MANY FEET

There came a day that I looked down at my feet
And I could see that each one was in a different stream.
How could that be?
And the more I looked,
I could see that I had many feet
In many streams…
How could that be?

I started to climb up the legs
That were attached to these feet
That formed a great hill
I started to climb.
Sometimes a hand would grab me
And pull me down
Sometimes there were many hands
That grabbed
And pulled me down
Feet would trip me
Arms would entangle me
Bodies would engulf me
Twisting and turning to stop me.

Finally I got to the top

I stood up and took a deep breath
I looked down
I could see all the bodies
And all the dreams
And all the lives
And all the lies
And all the virtue
And all the deceit
I could see all around me
Everywhere

I felt loneliness
I felt the sadness
I felt the hurt
And I felt the loss

It was all me!

My eyes and my heart were opened
Off in the distance I could see the
Youngest of me sitting silently
He waited so long
And was so deserving
And so innocent,
I welcomed him home.

The skies grew brighter.

Below me I could see
That all the legs
Still went to all the feet
That were still in all the streams.

But now, I could see the streams were coalescing together
Into a mighty river

And that big beautiful river
Flowed into a deep blue,
Beautiful sea

Full of light and Life

The Lake

LAKE
I want to rent a house on a lake
I want it to be quiet, a simple house,
But
I want it to have a dock and maybe a
Rowboat or canoe. Either is OK.
I don’t want there to be any motors,
Or a busy lake
I want to be able to jump into the lake
And swim under the water and look up
and see the light coming through the water
I want to see a spider walk on the
Surface of the water.
Just because they can
Oh, there will be a little fish darting.
And I want to
Just swim around where it’s a little murky,
And I’ll see just a flash of their lives.
At night I can go out in the boat
And listen to the Silence.

Maybe some bats fly by
Hopefully, it will be cloudless
And the sky will be full of stars
That is my wish
