Ashlina Daneen Poem
I had seen this bottle before;
It reeked of musk and seemed so sore.
Years of grime, ink, and time
Stuck to the surface like a rusty mine.
And only after using it did I
Understand the reason why
The shiny bits of life become dull
Because happiness ends up being null .
Carbon might become diamond under pressure
Yet it still does not give a measure
Of Whether we end up as a flawless bell
Or A hollow shell.

Ashlina Daneen Poem
Where does it come from?
Why does it flow so endlessly?
What secrets is it trying to wash away?
The river wears a shimmering gown...
They call it liquid light
Waves wrapping themselves around the smooth stones,
like an old friend offering a gentle hug...
What is that soothing whisper!
Are the ripples sharing secrets with the shore?
The fish and pebbles getting
a crystal-clear view of the world above.
Yes, I want to dive in!
Finally, the cool touch meeting my hands
dancing through my fingers with absolute freedom.
What is this calm settling inside me?
Is it the water reflecting the peace I forgot I had?
A liquid mirror showing my own eyes,
and it feels deeper than before!
Oh wait! Who filled this endless stream
with the moving jewels of life?
But, before I completely grasp its depth...
The current moves on, marking the flow of time.
But wait! I feel a stillness within
Asking me "Come on, join us!"

Ashlina Daneen Poem
I sit here sometimes.
Just watching the sky turn into a masterpiece
of pinks and golds.
And honestly?
It hits so hard.
But it’s crushing, too.
Knowing how fast it all fades away.
Fleeting.
I look around and wonder
if I am the only one who actually noticed.
My mind goes too deep.
A single line from a poem can haunt me for days.
Keats said the poetry of earth is never dead,
but the world is just so noisy.
Mechanical.
I tried bringing up Camus.
I tried talking about Dostoyevsky.
People looked at me like I had three heads.
It’s hard to find someone who wants to go there with you.
Who doesn't mind losing track of time
in a discussion about purpose.
Isolated.
But the world feels a little less lonely
when someone else sees the poetry.
Oscar said we're all in the gutter,
but some of us are looking at the stars.
So if you're out there.
If you appreciate a good existential ramble.
Let's talk.
I'm looking for the gazer.

Ashlina Daneen Poem
Fading Into glass
To the world around me,
I wish to convey my doubts.
I am unfamiliar with believing what I see,
or trusting the ground beneath my feet.
For when I try to hold on tightly, things slip away.
Not entirely physical,
so I let the quiet tell me what is real.
If I were to wake up,
discover this whole life was a daydream,
the loss of our everyday routine
would be my subject of grief.
Memories floating away from my grasp.
Hours spent counting the illusions of control.
Intangible and fleeting.
Indirectly felt. Hope says,
maybe tomorrow will prove it’s all real
to me.
But the morning never gives an answer.
Only solid enough to deliver
the surface level of a tangible world.
Leaving me ignorant of the deeper roots
anchoring our existence.
When I try to feel more than
the solid walls of my room,
it falls flat.
Never anchoring,
I feel guilty for questioning the light.
Maybe I could arrange my thoughts better.
Clear enough to be understood,
deep enough to make sense of this fog.
Asking myself what stays behind,
Begging for a glimpse of truth,
Catching shadows on the wall,
Doubers trapped in a theater,
Every second passing like smoke,
Finding reality in the ache.
For me,
I used to chase the daylight,
A common thing
yet it felt distant every time.
No matter what I touch,
It feels the same as those fleeting dreams.
A child reaching for what isn't there,
looking for answers from a universe that stays quiet.
I truly am trying to see,
I cannot even begin to find the edge.

Ashlina Daneen Poem
Do you guard the water’s edge,
or watch my vessel glide?
You climb through space, a silent pledge,
to guide the gentle tide.
A voyager of folded sheet,
my crisp white edges free,
where sky and mirrored shadows meet
in quiet harmony.
Without a compass, chart, or strain,
trapped in a fleeting design,
I drift through ripples, rain, and lane,
along a winding line.
And if I soak where waters yield
and sink beneath the clay,
I’ll anchor in a sodden field,
reborn in earth someday.

Ashlina Daneen Poem
Dressed in a curated grace,
We guard the fragile, superficial light,
Hiding the fractures of an inner space
That drags us through a solitary night.
Who should we blame for these conflicted ways?
Rich in composure,
Low on peace.
The quiet demons draw their subtle knots,
While the unspoken truths demand release.
Stars built inside the mind,
Implode on impact
Scattering the private altars into dust.
No battle is the same,
The unseen tallies grow,
The weight of what we cannot trust.
It is a longing, deep and vast and cold,
An invisible burden we are forced to hold.
A pulse that beats beneath a calm disguise,
A quiet fever hidden from public eyes.
Leaving us to play our pristine parts again,
While our wisdom is pulsing with arcane fervor,
Begging us to burn the silent, heavy chain.

Ashlina Daneen Poem
Back when we were small,
Everything felt true
Since at that time
We were experiencing something
Fresh and new.
We didn't pay attention to life's worries;
We didn't care,
For the real world was wide
And our happiness bare.
Our mentors seemed
To have had their lives figured out.
Yet, they were the ones that needed
Proper guidance and bring about.
Every fun, every trip,
Every single memory
Tug at a piece of us;
Something that takes a long time
For recovery.
The day arrived
When the light and hearty pride
That was rooted in our hearts
Disappeared.
For the clock began to sprint
And the easy seasons died
As we stood infront of the real world,
Our innocence denied.
So let us enjoy the moment
Instead of living at a different timeline
Because while we focus on one problem,
This period might also slip by.

Ashlina Daneen Poem
The human heart is built to be bent
An organ meant to change and mend.
But in order to adapt and truly grow,
It faces storms and dark snow.
Like that time you fell off of your bike,
A childhood scrape, a painful spike
But the bruises fade, the crying ends,
And that won't stop the path you trend
Or when at sweet sixteen you find
Your first heartbreak that leaves you behind;
A dull uncomfortable ache
Yet one you know you’ll surely break.
But oh, the pain that cuts the heart deepest
Where mountains seem to be the steepest
The fear that you are not enough
To be yourself when life gets rough.
You wonder if this grief will stay,
Or if it ever goes away
But hear me now, you must believe,
This heavy pain will also leave.
People don't see the one inside,
The person that you try to hide.
So we are given the task
To strip away the heavy mask
Life doesn’t stop, it doesn't wait,
It moves beyond fate
This endless life we’re walking through
Is like a book of faded hue
Its a coloring book of black and white
Just waiting for a splash of light.
So fill the pages, bright and bold,
Before the final tale is told

Ashlina Daneen Poem
The one who held
Was the one who cared
Everyday, Everynight
For her, he was always there
The one who held
Was the one who dared
To check upon her
When no one was there
But the one who let go
Decided that it is time
To leave this woe
Because she believed
That she wasn't worth a dime
The one who let go
Wasn't the one to be blamed
Because the one who let go
Was really ashamed
Of herself, especially
She was tired mentally
He was desperately chasing something
She couldn't offer physically
No one was at fault
And that's what hurt the most
One had nothing left to give
And one had too much to let go

Ashlina Daneen Poem
I stood near the soggy dim and grey window,
As I reminisced about today.
You in your beautiful denim
Looking disappointingly at me
Dissatisfied of the thing,
I always craved from thee.
You spat out the words
And they landed in my veins like venom.
A cold, sympathetic chill shuddered through my spine
My eyes stung
Like a fresh squeezed lemon.
I heaved a sigh as I settled onto the velvety sofa
Aware of the fact that I wasn't the one
But my heart started thundering
And I knew it was yet to come
Perhaps this venom will dry out the burning passion
Embedded deep inside of me
Perhaps I would be free
From this heartbreaking agony
My eyes softened as it arrived,
An itch in my throat which deeply thrived.
Someone, or something was clawing its way
The rainbow spilled into the day.
It was beautifully breathtaking Roses in flight.
Sparkles and glitter just blinding my sight,
All for a glimpse of your beautiful face
Lost in a dream, drifting away.
A whole universe
Where you loved me
Where you chose me
But I snapped back to reality
Out poured the petals, the stems, and the buds,
Lying lonely and lost in the cold, crimson floods.
But there was something unusual about it.
Covered in something dark, something black.
It wasn't as painful as before.
But the dull, heartache remained
Maybe your words eased the pain
Not in the way I expected.
