Namita Singh Poem
A Piece of You
Dearest Papa, she is looking at me
With the stillness you once had
Your reflection so profound
Clouds of happiness in the storm of sad
The way she crosses her feet
The way she rests on her arm
I see you in her, I feel you Dad
In the chaos of life, I can sense your calm
A little piece of you, God has given me in her
New hopes, deep courage, joys anew
For the life, the love and for Her
I Thank you

Namita Singh Poem
Clones
Bitesize, right height, weighing a hundred pounds.
Fit and fair with long beautiful hair and curvaceous mounds
Someone different, someone unique demanded every profile.
The geeks and the noobs were left out cause they had a different style
A world of clones spread across , as far as the eye could see
What we are and what we pretend couldnt any farther apart be.

Namita Singh Poem
The Streetlight
I stared outside my window,
I looked at the hills and sky.
I noticed the reflections in the lake
And the winding road nearby.
I saw the distant flickering lights
Blinking a million times a minute,
Flashy cars passing by,
And a tiny boat with people in it.
I silently bore witness
To the life happening in front of my eyes.
For a moment, I think I understood
What it meant to be a streetlight—
To stand still in chaos and not flinch a bit,
To know all the stories but tell no one of it,
To be serene and calm in the middle of the mess,
Sometimes dark, sometimes bright,
Glowing more, flickering less.
I’ll be like a streetlight on your journey,
You'll rest for a bit in my illuminated veil.
For since you have come, you’ll also go,
And none of us shall sing of this tale.

Namita Singh Poem
Grief, My Friend
My phone rang at 7 in the morning
I was still asleep
The loud ringing, stirred me strong
Woke me up from the depths deep
Half awake I picked it up
And said a weak hello
On the other end was my sister
Her shaky voice, hollow
She called my name
And I just knew something has gone awry
Her voice was full of horror and despair
Her heart sounded heavy
‘Papa is no more’ she said
The words slapped me right in the face
Jolted from the stupor I was
My shattered pieces scattered all over the place
I packed my suitcase, I packed my life
What was there left to pack anyway
Her words still haunt me, tear me apart
I will never forget that day
My father died that day and with him
Died a part of me
Smile on my face, sorrow in my heart
Grief, the colour of my soul shall be
My constant companion now is my pain
My loss is now my concerned friend
But there is hope and anticipation in the fact
That we will meet again - ‘In the End’
