Fly Home to Our Nest

In time an arms length away

I flew into the bird cage

Seeking a nest, following the others

As we connected and made it homely

The bars changed into windows

And doors

Then a place where we were all happy, together

Now, after two years of friendships, new and old

The cage-turned-community, near-sighted

Closed its eyes and turning away from the inevitable

Then the day hit 25

Everyone, dressed up

Dancing our hearts away

Turning blind eyes to the looming warmth of hottest season

Then the lights turned on

And the music stopped

Our hearts stopped too

Our eyes losing their lids, forced to witness the end

Our hearts, reminiscing

One by one, each bird left the nest, heavy-hearted

All unready, some with resignation, some with acceptance, to migrate so soon

Some flapping off together in search of new things

Others flying off to new nests

Even some soaring off alone

Leaving the hollowed nest

For the next generation to find and transform

So even if we meet new birds and find a new nest

We will never forget Our Nest

True Purpose

There once was a man

His job was to count nuts for the squirrels

Every day, he'd count nuts

Every month, he'd get his paycheck

Every year, he'd question his true purpose

He'd ask himself the purpose of counting nuts

Still pondering, he went to the bakery

The same bakery he always went to

The same kind old lady

The same delicious bread

Until one day, the old lady got sick

With no one to make bread, the man no longer could enjoy bread

That made him realize that only some jobs have true purpose

His job wouldn't change anything of value in the world if he stopped

Her job would change something of value in the world if she stopped

This awakening led him to quit his job

To find a job where he could make a difference

A job with purpose

A job with True Purpose

Want vs Right

There once was a man

He was birthed with bad defects

He could not feel from the waist down, nor did he have much of his legs

His skin was thin and stretched, making even the air feel like piercing needles

Moonlight feeling like an inferno

And he never knew what sunlight felt like

As he lived in a basement

A basement containing the cage he was binded with

He was cared for by his mother and father

She bathed and cleaned him, while his father worked for money

They were very kind souls, who he loved dearly

Through speech, pictures and videos, he lived a life he could never have

He was shown all that he envied for

This frustrated him, leaving him simmering in malice for the reason he was born corrupted

One day, the man was approached with a deal by a wizard

If he sold out his parents' life savings, he'd heal his body

Conflicted, stuck between his Want for a normal body and the Right of protecting his parents

He told the wizard his answer

Identity and Soul

Imagine you get a brain scan

It perfectly copies everything in your brain

If the copy was inserted into a robot

It would have the same feelings, memories and morals

It would think, speak, move just like you

Would that copy be you?

If you deem the copy to not be you, why?

If a brain scan of someone else's is put in a robot

Then the original person dies

Is the copy now the new them?

Duality

There was once two twins

One gifted with the power of creation

One gifted with the power of strength

They cherished each other

Helping the other through harsh times

Until the strong twin desired for more strength

Although it was for good reason, the creator twin wanted the other to stay with her

But the strong twin was stubborn

This disagreement cleaved the two apart

Weaving hate and resentment between them

Each going their separate yet close paths

Until one day

They were reunited by their Maker

Though for malignant reasons

The creator and the strengthened, both cut down by their Maker

As the light faded from their eyes

The creator used the last of her energy

To make a weapon for the strengthened

With the balance of their souls shifting, the strengthened became the supernatural

With strength of mountains and agility like the wind

The grieving twin sought revenge on her Maker

Before the Maker could even comprehend, he was cut down

Just as he cut down the two twins

Tridecidual

Long in the future

There's a planet just like our own

Full of kuppies and pittens

But inside these kuppies and pittens, there were three main components in their brain

The Ib, the Edo, and the Super-Edo

The Ib and the Super-Edo were two decision makers on opposite spectrums, while the Edo was the final decider

The Ib believed its decisions were the truest, as it decides based on instinct and feeling

And the Super-Edo believed its decisions were the justest, as it decides based on morals and principals

The conciousness, or the Edo had to decide if it'd listen to the Ib or the Super-Edo

An Ib too dominant meant recklessness and poor self-control

While a Super-Edo too dominant meant guilt or pride

For example

If a pitten found a kuppy with a broken leg

The Ib would tell it to eat it, since it felt hungry, and the kuppy was defenseless

The Super-Edo would tell it to help it, because solidarity and charity were its virtues

In the end, the Edo would decide

The decision between the Ib and the Super-Edo always weighed on the pittens

While the kuppies couldn't care less

The pittens often listened to their Super-Edo

While the kuppies often listened to their Ib
