Discourse Is A Curse

So many hateful internet opinions,
but not enough compassion or intellect;
There's always an embittered person
raging ceaselessly about everything

So much collective societal arrogance,
at times it like there's no humility
There's always someone in the world
arguing over what does not matter

Maybe they'll get a thicker enough skin,
they might even learn to care a bit less
Perhaps they will later on come to see
that through detachment they can be free

The Rabbit and the Moonwatcher

I talked to the full moon last night
Diana told me a truth about the sun.
“He sees all, but isn’t always right.”
But she encourages him to have fun.
“We are siblings who hate to fight.”
Together, they live life on the run.
“In the sky, we bring you the light.”
On the grass hops a little wild bun.

An Ode To The Unseen

Some things in life do not resonate
For they mostly only ever repulse
The saddest of humanity tempts fate
Or blames the heart for broken clarity
While the dutiful of mankind joins in love to protect entire communities
And seek out new purpose with grace while releasing senseless vanity.

A View From The Other Side

Like a ferocious bull
trapped in a China cabinet,
She suddenly collapses
and in fury she seethes
and she cries and rages

Only in deep prayer
does she find inner peace;
Her turmoil churns,
She's manifesting magic
and manic moon phases.

Deep-seated pain
from a lack of self,
deeply profound
it loudly rings
through every ripple,
of her past and future

Feathered hair
covers a tear-streaked face;
The Gods know of her;
They see her soul scars
and the etheric sutures.

Her sobs quietly fade
as Sorrows of Deep Past
torment her soul
throughout night and day

I walk away in silence
and in my heart
swells Gratitude;
forever relieved
at her absence

Truly elated I am
that her soul scars
are not mine;
And for that Wisdom,
I know that
Unlike her
I was already whole

A Warm Night By The Open Book And Window

I look up from the moonlit book in my lap and look
away from the shadows of the flaming midnight sun.
I'm enchanted with your ephemeral friends, living
their lives well while you're out there on the run.

What the moon rabbit don’t know about where you've
been is what will become a source of joy and fun.
Away she goes into the dark skies and your tendency to
dim what makes you shine bright is forever undone.

To The Man Who Always Fails

May every single troubled man
on our beautiful city streets
that seeks to harm other people
End up stuck in a safe place
where he can harm none
Until he can finally learn
to control himself better
And treat others around him
with basic humanity and respect
And may he find inner peace
from his turbulent inner worlds
While he figures out how to grow.

To Have a Heart Is To Be A Lighthouse

If you are lost
look no further
Trust in yourself
and know that
it's important
for you
to remember
To try your best
and never give up

Try to be the person
you needed to be
when you were
younger and afraid
Of the things
that cannot
hurt you anymore
now that you are
much stronger,
wiser, and braver.

For every step
you take forward
There is someone
younger who sees
you and might
someday aspire
to be just like you
Because in their eyes
you somehow
became their hero.

We Don't Want Nobody That Nobody Sent

I blocked
her because
I don't
want to see
her here

I sense
her comments
on my poems
are not
sincere

She sends me
negative intent
via
a polished
veneer

She comes to
my page
to
gawk and
leer

Scythe To Soul

Some say the husband has been unfaithful.
Being in her profile pic won't change anything.
The crown on her head's already withering.
She was never really her husband's queen.

Disclaimer: This poem is about the general population of mean girls with their spouses in their profile photos, who, for whatever reason, subconsciously feel a need to prove how successful and stable their marriage is. No offense is actually intended. If you find yourself feeling triggered, step back, take a deep breath, and exhale. Do not give words on a screen so much power over your mind.

When Life Twists And Turns

Something shifts in the airscape
Like Lady Guabancex’s angry storm
Then wild winds spin around and dance
Becoming a beautifully chaotic song
Of our vastly ever-changing universe.
