Shiny lines and silent cries

Shiny Lies & Silent Cries

Days under burden, souls on a roll,
Pfft... shiny silver armour the police on patrol.
But what are they saving, when the poor see no shore?
Hoho, darling, the past was grand… now it's just a bore.

Wanna be happy, wanna be sad,
But look at the state of humanity it's gone mad.
Cleansing, crying, whispering alone,
Begging for peace while success turns to stone.

You held me tight, gripped my hand
Inside my mind, it’s hard to stand.
Thoughts and emotions, a ray in motion,
Moon on your head, but where’s the ocean?

It’s dry and dead, the fish can’t swim
The sea’s just a trash bin, filled to the brim.
Soft songs can’t reach our ears,
Because loudspeakers shout our fears.

Dancing in lust, a heavy flight,
Is this chaos really humanity’s light?
No shining armour just pants and bikinis,
Funny, once beggars dressed with more dignity.

The world is vast, but hearts feel thin
This is your sun, dimmed from within.
Do you know when to stop, when to flare?
Is betrayal what you’ve chosen to wear?

They bled for our freedom, stood tall in war
Now we sit idle, letting it rot to the core.
Hearts filled with lust, chasing the gold,
Preying on the weak, growing cold.

Wanna see light? Then take flight
Don't fear the traps in darkest night.
Those trails, though harsh, are God's design,
To remind us all of the divine.

I seek one thing peace in freedom’s name,
Whatever life I choose, I won’t play that game.
No more suffocation, no more fear,
Not for love, nor dreams unclear.

We're all chasing goals, lost in the race
Money, marriage, success… a faceless chase.
But what's the stake? We’ve lost the plot,
Forgotten the soul in all we've sought.

Answers are many, but truth is rare
Life is bull unless you dare
To choose your peace over hollow desire,
To rise above, to not expire.

I want to fall in love beautifully,
Drive through life and live luxuriously.
But what does my heart truly crave?
Will I sell my soul, to be someone’s slave
