Cody Tieland Poem
As I journeyed through the hellish landscape of my past,
I began to put out the fires that somehow still last.
They were persistent and tried to reignite themselves, but I held fast.
Some would lunge and lick at me as the water was cast.
But I kept on working until the burning had passed.
I kept working until fertile fields were unmasked.
Then I began to plant seeds for my future. Seeds I would nurture into a landscape lush and vast.

Cody Tieland Poem
You can hurt me a hundred times, then a hundred more.
It's no matter to me because I won't keep score.
Beat away at me, break me down to the core.
There you will find some love, take it and roar!
Use it for strength, to help yourself soar.
To replenish and refill, that's what it's for.
It's okay, I have love to give and love in store.
Go ahead and use it to fix that beautiful heart they tore.

Cody Tieland Poem
If I had kept holding the past, I would have become dangerous, so I let it be.
I left the past somewhere I could visit it, and it could visit me.
I got on with my life, happy I was finally feeling free.
I explored and enjoyed myself enough to open up and see.
I had ignored it in my past all this time, that my past was also holding life's beauty.
I was focussed on the pain and the want,
I was looking at what was moving past me.
I was seeing what I was missing out on,
Unable to see what I was growing to be.
All of that pain I once felt, that I left behind,
It had become beauty, and I was truly set free.
