Manisha Meena Poem
To wait
is to drown
slowly
with a hope
one day
you will rise
only to witness
the time passing by,
getting closer to the bottom.
Here, struggle
is no longer needed;
surrender is easier.
To let go of heavier dreams
and embrace
the defeat.
Not to give up,
but to land the feet
to bounce back better
with an air of a new kind
created during the halt.
A pause to refill
and restart
what was unfinished
with a slight twist
that‘ll make
the whole difference.

Manisha Meena Poem
A hill that's
about to vanish
with a spark
reflecting
from a loner's home
scintillating
like a star.
When I was a kid,
the hill was loftier,
was a landmark
to locate my school
from the roof of our house.
Unlike back then,
it‘s in a tortured state
like counting down
the leftover
years of life
along with
a solitary glow
portraying
the last hope.

Manisha Meena Poem
Hollow morning,
unsweetened coffee,
words with
a meaningless cord
hanging in an empty room.
Monotonous days where
hope is thinning
leading joy to depart
to create a loner
who lives in a crowd.
Running,
becoming a machine
as a reader of palms
forecasted
doomsday early.
A smile is here
hiding the rage,
not belonging
still imprinted
on every cage.
Life is hard
for a bad actor,
masks if removed,
own reflection
will be frightened.
In broad daylight
a facade is going on,
a genuine picture
if captured
must be dusk hours.
Insomniac at night
to recover fully,
some moments to cherish
after a whole day
walking like dead.
Birds chirping,
their lies
are therapy,
an owl sits in silence
labelled inauspicious.
Music is playing
with all wrong chords
one who is
blessed with ignorance
dancing still.
In oblivion
become omniscient,
to understand is
bringing a slow death
and remembered as 'a retard'.

Manisha Meena Poem
Your shadow lingers,
following me everywhere.
When my lips speak
the words were once yours,
I wonder
why do I still carry
what is already gone?
In the place you once lived,
my heart gathers dust,
stitched with quiet spiderwebs.
Each attempt to erase you
smears your memory deeper.
Like a horcrux,
your absence survives in me
to destroy it
feels like destroying myself,
I despise you for that.
And yet,
fragments of what we were
still pulse beneath my skin,
quickening my heart
at every remembrance.
To never repeat,
I must remember.
After a love undone,
you become a distant star
fixed in my night sky.
Let the pain stay,
like an uninvited guest.
It will leave
when it learns
it is no longer feared.
Only then will
a true liberation arrive.

Manisha Meena Poem
You ask
why my eyes are blank
where the sparks went.
I say
look into them.
Stay still.
Now dive.
The ocean is in turbulence,
yet a lone canoe drifts
waiting for you.
It will take you to the shore.
There,
an old friend
no longer mine
will be waiting.
Introduce yourself
she’ll understand
and guide you further.
To a cemetery,
the road is less traveled,
but it makes for a quiet walk.
And there,
you’ll see
all my dreams
buried deep,
marked with beautiful gravestones.
maybe then
you’ll have
no questions left.

Manisha Meena Poem
Your ghost
lives under my bed,
comes out
only at midnight,
wandering around
messing with my head
and vanishing like phew
moment the sun steps in.
In the noon hours I forget
what's that all about.
But often reminisce
once the sun says goodbye.
Like any other night
I will face you again,
looming over
and me looking back
like nothing unusual .
I am just curious.
Are you not willing to leave?
or
am I not ready to let go?
