Alyssa Strand Poem
I walk down these empty halls
Void of pictures and paitings of boys
Or even someone to say they care
Its an empty white hall
Filled with nothing at all
I look out a window to see other peoples halls
And i'm met with beautiful pathways
Filled with paintings and pictures
Of people that care
Paintings of boys making girls laugh
Some even making them cry
But in the end
They are the one with the beautiful and colorful halls

Alyssa Strand Poem
Beauty surronds the world
Made perfect in Gods creation
The trees whisper in the wind
Creating the prettiest melody
The birds soar high in the sky
Dancing a beautiful ballet
The old house down the street
Cracked and warped shows beauty like no other
Even the slums on the bad side of town
Have beauty in ever hole and flaw
Life seems to create such stunning pictures
I find that nothing is hard to love if you open your eyes
So why am I so hard to love
Are all the boys blind unable to open their eyes
Did I not make the cut for Gods stunning photos
Or was I made to be something repulsing
Something that makes the rest of Gods creations look beautiful
Like the background color used to make others pop
My flaws dont make me beautiful
They sit on my shoulders following me
Mocking me for eternity
Reminding me that I am unlucky
Born to ugly to be loved

Alyssa Strand Poem
The tv sings soft tunes
But my mind cant focus
Im watching the charecters go by
A second later im watching myself
Seeing everything from an outside view
Its paranomal, really
A spirit tied to its old body
having to watch it get passed around
Being held like a child holding a balloon
tethered to it for all eternity
Watching its life from a window
But never really living it
Never feeling the proper emotions
Or remebering the right thing
Cause your mind is not yours
It is broken
Being held by scraps of glue
Falling apart at the slightest of movement
So you float
Keeping yourself steady
Not falling
Your a ghost in your own body

Alyssa Strand Poem
Their eyes were following, the girl
was following, the guard
was following the road
Was going to the blade
That was calling on the girl
From the disgusting little king
The girl was following God
Was following the word
Was following love
The king was following himself
Was following his words
Was following his hate
The girl closed her eyes
Said a little prayer
Prayed for the ones, that didn't care
Prayed for king, full of hate
And for the ones who wepped
Prayed for the day
That others could say
"Lord I pray"

Alyssa Strand Poem
I walked down a hallway
To busy
To angry
To stressed
At the front of the hall was a father
Picking up his little daughter
She couldnt have been older than 5
Blabbering on about a duck she saw
She laughed and he followed
She danced and he followed
And I stood there
Time itself froze on me
Trasported back into younger me
Standing in a room alone
Surrounded by all the fathers and daughters
Laughing, dancing, talking
I was trapped in the center of it all
I stared at that little girl
If skin could turn different colors I would be the darkest green
Ha
How funny is that
To be jealous of a little girl
Who has no control over who her dad is
Just like I have no control over who mine is
I walked past them
She didnt just smile she beamed at me
And I gave the best smile I could
As jealous as I was she got what i wanted
As I was glad she got what I wanted
Cause no one deserves what I got

Alyssa Strand Poem
How lucky am I to have everything i could want
How lucky am I that I have money to spare
How lucky am I that I dont have to go hungry
How lucky am I to have 2 married parents
How lucky am I to have a roof over my head
How unfortunate all I wanted was peace
How unfortunate money doesnt ease pain
How unfortunate I must go hungry to be pretty
How unfortunate my parents dont get along
How unfortunate the roof over my head is caving in
How fortunate that I can make peace with others
How fortunate I can give to those whose money cannot be spared
How fortunate am I to give food to the starved
How fortunate that I have witnessed strong love
How fortunate I am to share my roof with those who need it more
How lucky am I to be so unlucky

Alyssa Strand Poem
The dark seeps like oil in cloth
Never finding its way out
Scrubbing and scrubbing
But never leaving
Im impure like that cloth
I lay in bed and fall
Falling farther and farther
The hole is nothing but soft feathers
I have no grasp no way out
No matter how comforting the feathers
The fog rolls in and I cant see in front of me
Cant think of whats next
The fog settles low and heavy
Never leaving
It starts to seep
Just like that damn oil

Alyssa Strand Poem
Father take me away
To a higher place
That is what I pray
Keep me in your warm embrace
Earth is to cold
Even though tempatures keep rising
My mind has been sold
I am not thriving
My body is tired
But when is it not
I have been wrong wired
But lord knows I have fought
Father take me far away
To a higher place
There I will stay
when I leave the world give me grace

Alyssa Strand Poem
I cant ask him to change
Its asking the devil to go to church
The devil knows God is real
He knows change can happen
The devil chooses to live astray
He will forever choose to live sick
the devil was once close to God
Just as he was close to me
Forever seperated by an unwillingness to change
