Shyla Mouzon Poem
A dove flew by my window
It was sad, but it was calm
It sat on the ledge staring at the ground
I don't know why it looked so miserable
I spoke to the dove
Why so gloom?
It responded in a off kind of tune
I feel stuck like I can't move, I am not free as you may think
You have wings, to travel
You have a mate for life
You have eveything you need to live in your delight
The dove chirped in dispear
I have this sickness
One that will not leave
It comes into the mind
Like a bad bad disease
A sickness in the mind?
How could that be?
Maybe you're just misinterpreting things
It comes and goes
kind of like a cold
the only difference is it grows like Mold
That's one kind of sickness , one that I've never heard
wait how could you be this sick
you're just a tiny bird
The sickness will creep up into your head
it spins you into darkness
it makes you feel dead
yet you are alive and breathing well
there's no reason to put
your mind into hell
I spoke to the dove
Why so gloom?
It responded in a off kind of tune
I feel stuck like I can't move, I am not free as you may think
You have wings, to travel
You have a mate for life
You have eveything you need to live in your delight
the dove chirped like it sang the blues
he said I did not see his veiws
how can I When they're so hued
My flock and you are just the same
your eyes never see beyond the pain
If I flew away ,they would never care
I was destined to live in despair
How could you fly away, never looking back
you'd give your flock a heart attack
think of how they would feel
that's a pain that would kill
you have a flock who loves you dear
I'm sure you wouldn't want them to be in tears
you don't need to be unreasonable
I'm sure the sickness is just Seasonal
look, you have wings, to travel
you have a mate for life
you have everything to live in your delight
I looked for the dove to hear him Chirp
he was no longer there
he was in the dirt
