Reasons unchanged,
breed endless cycles of shame.
Habits we form young,
ingrained in the old remain.
Redemption albeit rare exists,
in the purpose driven mind
Relentless to shift,
what most you're looking to find.
For the soul to grow
Itself it must know
What all it's looking for!
A desire to know more.
Explore what’s inside!
Be unwilling to hide.
When afraid face fear!
Accept moments it's near.
Even if courage leads stray.
It's okay to not be okay!
Hard, not impossible
The search for inner belief.
Identify what enables,
your self-defeating grief.
Realize reason,
the smallest morsel for cause.
Allow that to be,
Your needed second for pause!
For the soul to grow

True thought once,
life abruptly ended in an eve.
Morning come,
awoke whilst nowhere now to leave.
Pastures of greener grass,
lo' beholden, no longer golden.
Resembled ash,
ruins cooled of rivers lava molten.
Was not ‘til night,
or so thought was of my life.
Nearest end,
only future sat perched within my sight.
Vision lost,
once hawklike, not quite blind now at best.
Fog cleared, skies blue,
upon my horizon, you postponed my rest.
Though thought lost,
past years reckoned all had best times of my life.
Age thrust open,
buried youth, reinvigorated, you yet may be my wife.
Meant to be,
awakened my jaded naive belief in destiny.
Certain foolish once,
awaited rewarded faith, with you, the one for me.

We hadn’t met yet,
And I knew my life had changed
Your mother told me,
This wouldn’t be the same
After work first thing home,
Grab my six string and strum away
Unconditional love for you,
With each chord my heart would frame
First time in my arms,
Held within my gaze
The world I knew before you,
In an instant completely changed
Brighter now lights seemed to shine,
You radiate sun’s light
All the rough edges of the world,
Your smile had redesigned
Most lessons we learn in life,
Are from first tries not done right
I couldn’t wait to wake to your cry,
In the middle of each night
Those special moments,
When you’d snuggle in so tight
One day no longer there for that,
I feared your love might turn to spite
But as you smiled and we danced,
In that small room holding hands
I knew why me without you,
Doesn’t stand a chance
All the fear I’d felt,
You wouldn’t feel the same
Was all erased in a moment,
By the music and a glance
I watched as you heard,
The first ring of the guitar string
And nearly wept,
As I saw your kindred heart sing
I saw it means to you,
What it means to me too
It does more than words can,
For us, our I love you!

My entire concept of time,
changed the moment you entered my life!
It didn't take long,
to know I'd ask you to be my wife.
I noticed time changed,
when with or without you.
How could an hour
feel endless, nightmare!
And yet eternity, suffice,
my nighttime prayer.
I only feel whole,
in the time we share.
My entire concept of time,
changed the moment you entered my life!
Seconds feel like hours,
minutes become days.
Crippling, each tick,
the clock makes when you're away.
Fleeting, together weeks hurriedly pass,
sinking, time quicksand, life’s hourglass.
Less than forever together,
never enough time there.
How could an hour
feel endless, nightmare!
And yet eternity, suffice,
my nighttime prayer.

in the time we share.

Don't lay down,
content where you find you are today!
Don't believe you don’t deserve,
all that comes your way!
Don't give up on dreams,
when they seem beyond your means!
See each unfold on repeat,
in your mind like movie scenes!
Don't not reach for the stars,
cause of where it is you are!
Limits don’t exist,
if you don’t believe in a too far!
Steady moving forward,
too far is soon where you are!
The difference between,
what's real and what’s a dream?
Steps you take to make,
real what your dreams seem!
Seasons change,
with them you start anew.
Each passing,
reminder what's possible for you!
Colors of the fallen leaves,
reminiscent of sunset!
Out of thaw, seeds bud,
green promises of reset!
Allow each passing season,
shed flaws no longer needed!
Become the person,
it is you need to believe in!
Nothings impossible,
if impossibles not believed in!
Believe in all's possible,
See all your dreams achieved then!
