Madi Rae Poem
She’s so ideal
She smiles at everyone she sees.
At the sight of someone so ethereal,
The people feel at ease.
Her perfect hair falling down,
The way ocean waves couldn’t compare.
When one looks into her blue eyes they drown,
One couldn’t help but stare.
When you hear her voice,
The angels stop and listen.
You have no choice,
To impress her would be your mission.
Her name,
Just the mention of her.
It will spark a flame,
Everything else would be a blur.
I want to be that girl,
The girl who the angels listen to.
The girl who’s hair,
Makes the ocean waves get jealous.
The girl that people just connect to.
The girl who could drown you
with the beauty of her eyes
The girl who by even the slightest mention,
It would send someone into a heart attack.
I want to be her.

Madi Rae Poem
A tongue well-school’d in traffic of men’s grief.
Where sorrow knelt, he stoop’d and whisper’d low,
And harvest drew from tears not his to shed.
She stood in black, a reliquary of death,
Her loss still warm with breath he had expell’d;
O painted mercy, sweeter far than truth.
Spoke hate as though it yet might guard her soul;
Her eyes ran salt, her mouth was sharp with pain,
And heaven, conscience, memory stood ’gainst him.
He laugh’d them thin.
He had but guile, a knee well-tim’d, a look
That wore the face of counterfeit remorse.
What sport it was, to win where loathing reign’d,
To pluck submission from extremest hate.
The world were nothing set against this proof:
That grief grows tired,
He took her then—not as men take in love,
But as one claims a prize half-dead already.
She named him beast, deform’d in limb and will;
He taught her then to pity what she fear’d,
Laid all his shape and sins on spiteful stars,
And knelt—not broken, but most keenly fix’d.
“…Out of my sight.
Thou venomous corruption—
thou foul’st mine eyes with looking upon thee…”
It was her gaze, he swore, that poison’d him.
Her eyes struck deeper than a mortal blade
And kill’d him living, drawing tears from stone.
Her scorn grew slack and thin,
Not harden’d steel, but cord too long in strain.
Yet still her sight fell back to rest on him—
On him, misshapen, murderous, unclean.
O sin made ripe, when virtue stoops to want,
And sorrow, starv’d, will feed on anything.
He bare his breast; he traffick’d life and death,
Not risking aught, but tasting her delay.
The blade grew dull with grief within her hand;
Her mercy stank of weariness and fear.
She dropp’d the steel.
He felt no triumph then—
Only a hunger newly wak’d in him.
Her silence was a door thrown wide and bare;
He nam’d it consent, crown’d himself with it,
And felt desire grow blacker in his blood.
Thus gain’d he her—not heart, nor willing flesh,
But use and rule, possession cleanly won.
She walks beside him now, already spent,
A body married to his mounting will.
No tears move him.
No memory bites deep.
Her grief grows thin; her name is lesser coin.
His lust for power swells and burns apace,
And where he once did kneel, he now but takes.
For crowns are bought with bodies, not with love,
And women, words, and pity rot alike.
He was not made to soften or repent—
He stands unchain’d,
and hungers for his crown.
“...I’ll have her, but I will not keep her long…”

Madi Rae Poem
Stop refreshing the screen.
Their name wont show, or be highlighted.
Stop scrolling through the old texts.
It wont bring them back.
Stop staring at them,
They wont look back at you.
You shouldn’t have to beg for attention.
You shouldn’t have to change the color of your eyes,
for them to see you.
You shouldn’t have to increase the volume of your music to drown out the overthinking.
You shouldn’t have to speak in their cøde for them to
End up not understanding you.
Do not be the romantic waltz to their messy tango.
They didn’t notice then, why would they notice now?
You shouldn’t have to

For them to see the real you.
Because the real you isn’t just your flesh.
You shouldn’t have to train them to treat you how you want,
Just for you to end up the circus clown.
You shouldn’t have to change your vocal cords just to
Harmonize one note with them.
You shouldn’t have to provide the effort.
You shouldn’t have to,
But you do.
Because that’s what we call
Love.

Madi Rae Poem
Not knowing is scary,
It’s unnerving.
I wonder everyday where you are
And how you’re doing,
And if there’s a new me in your life.
But you said there’s no one like me.
Was that a lie?
It wouldn’t be the first time you’ve lied.
The scars on my limbs are the only reminder of you.
Such a sad thought.
That only way I remember you,
is through my pain.
The echoes of your voice,
the things you’ve said to me.
They seem to ring through my head,
like a bell rings in a church.
You never truly loved me,
you loved the memories we had.
The good times we had.
I hate myself for that.
I let you take advantage of me like that.
Something my mother would never accept.
Something my father would warn me about.
I don’t know.
Not knowing is scary.
But I know I’m right.
Thats what scares me.

Madi Rae Poem
Blood falling
Down
Down
Down
Onto the little glass shard
of my dads broken
shot glass
I don’t know
why I do it.
I never have real answer
when people ask..
“To forget”
“To punish”
“To feel better..”
Those are the most common answers..
But I had a reason that night..
Everything was failing..
My friends
My relationship
My grades
My room was a mess
I kept getting grounded..
That night my uncle was in town
He was my dads friend but him and
my dad were so close they
were blood brothers.
I don’t remember how he found out..
If I told him
If he saw the glass shard
from the shot glass
I can’t remember.
All I remember is him taking it from my hands
And telling me that I was gonna be ok..
“This will go on my shelf”
“It has my blood on it.”
“That’s alright sugar”
“Why on your shelf?”
“To show how far you’ve come from this moment”
“Don’t tell my parents..”
“I won’t.”
That was the first time
I’ve seen him cry.
And when he isn’t here on earth anymore..
Well..
I don’t want to think about that.
To my Uncle Robert.
The crazy old man
I’m happy to have.

Madi Rae Poem
“You’re welcome.”
The words ring through my head.
The words I knew were soon to come.
My eyes fill with dread.
I knew he would see through my lies.
I knew that he would talk to my father.
After countless cries,
I seemed to not be bothered.
Nothing can stop me.
The sting makes me feel alive,
It brings me back to reality.
I’ll talk to him,
but it won’t make it better.
The light in my eyes is dim,
I want to beat my head with a hammer.
But alas the night is here,
and I can sit in my room.
It’s so very clear,
it’s so very gloom..
I’ll sit in my ocean of tears,
My silence wonder.
I only want to hear the cheers,
when I’m 6ft under.
“You’re welcome.”

Madi Rae Poem
“Your laugh is annoying”
My laugh authentic.
My laugh is unique.
My laugh brings joy.
“Your smile is ugly”
People fall in love with my smile.
My smile isn’t fake.
My smile shows emotion.
“You’re weak”
I have carried burdens for people that bring down my shoulders.
My limbs show what I’ve been through
and that I’m still here despite the challenges.
I never give up and I’ll always carry you when you’ve fallen.
“You’ll never be good enough”
I am good enough for my friends
I will not push myself beyond capability
I am good enough, I am great.
“You could’ve done better”
Maybe so, but I gave it all I got.
I did what I could.
I’m not good at it, yet
“Why can’t be you be like…”
I am not them, I am me.
I am not them, I am me.
I am not them, I am me.
I. Am. Me.
“You’re useless”
…
…
…
“That’s right. Be silent. Don’t go against me”
…
…
…
“You don’t have a choice. You have no one to go to.”
…
…
…
“You. Are. Nothing.”
I have a voice.
I have my people.
I have a choice.
I am as free as an eagle.
I will not be silent.
Your words do not define me.
You are a tyrant.
And you will not hear my plea.
I am everything.
I am something.
I. Am. Free.

Madi Rae Poem
Dibujo estrellas
Dibujo estrellas.

Madi Rae Poem
For once, I feel loved.
The feeling is weird to me.
Just a few months ago I thought love was stupid.
That it was impossible.
I thought my mind was not suited
I thought it was not tangible.
Such a foolish thing to think.
Of course my mind can comprehend love
But it could all go away in a blink,
to feel higher than clouds, to feel so above
To then just be put out,
Like a fire at a campsite.
Yes, the seeds of doubt
Start to plant with delight
Maybe,
I am not suited for such things.
I must be crazy!
To think I am worthy of something meant for the worldly kings.
Love this
Love that
Love her
Love him
Love these
Love those
Love.
I do not know.
I am not a dove…
I am so far below…
For once, I felt loved.
The feeling is weird to me.
Just a few moments ago I thought love wasn’t stupid.
That it wasn’t impossible.
I thought my mind was suited
I thought it was tangible.
Such a foolish thing to think.

Madi Rae Poem
Your body remembers it all.
whether you do or don’t.
Your body remembers the pain you felt.
even when you can’t recall.
Your body will trigger the flashbacks.
and you’ll take them as dreams.
Your body will remind you of the setbacks.
but you will ignore it.
Your body will shut down parts of you,
to keep you alive.
Your body will speak to you,
in a language only you can learn to understand.
Your body’s language,
is the hardest language known to man.
