An ode to life

I thought it was easy to live
surely out of everything that
I've been through but
I was wrong again to trust

To trust the leaves falling in july
a long before autumn's arrived,
the trail left covered in dust
I was wrong again to trust

To trust the unsinkable ship of
the blue, majestic isn't it
but a pathetic fate it brought
drowning to the deep, now it rust
I was wrong again to trust

To trust the breeze that made me calm , in the midst of chaos it kept me warm but, my oh my —
All it was a storm in disguise; left me shattered and I lost
I was wrong again to trust

Now — this is where i often find myself
when i choose to trust freely;
at times it pulls me apart,
and what left isn't so lively..

Yet still, beneath the ache and doubt,
a quiet ember learns to stay—
not every trust is meant to bloom,
not every fall should crush me away.
For even scars can teach the heart
where to bend, and where to stand.

So I’ll walk on— wiser,
with softer hope and guarded sight;
to fall, to rise, to breathe again,
to live despite the fear and strive —
this fragile courage I now write,
this is an ode to life.
