two of hearts

the twos dance around me
they daunt me they taunt me
serving as a reminder
like a pair of eyes
two peas in a pod
a two way street
at 2 AM
pairs
that everyone has
i wonder where mine is
i wonder when it will come
the twos like to taunt me
they remind me of an empty space
one that i never cared for
or was aware of
they like to say
the time will come
and they run away
shaking with laughter
they are tricky
they have double meanings
they are two faced
in reality, the duality is
one satisfies me
but i feel the twos
creeping up on me
i know them
they like to dance
they forever taunt
