Cold

I'm standing next to you,
In the biting cold,
Wearing leggings and a coat.
I might freeze before
Your ride arrives
But I’ll wait with you
Every time.
After all,
It was me who made the call,
So, I’ll wait for you,
Even in the biting cold,
Talking about nothing
Just catching up,
Wearing leggings and a coat.
I might freeze
Before your ride arrives,
But I’ll wait with you,
Every time.

just lovers

just two lovers with
nothing more, just in love is
just about enough

History

History repeats itself
because it cannot be heard
leaders are deaf
to the warnings it sings
leaders wouldn't dare listen
if the topic it brings
are their mistakes and incompetence
the faults of mankind
no one listens to History
when History is right

Pink Pretty

Pink isn't the only pretty.
Is stained glass not stunning?
Pink isn’t the only pretty
Is stained glass not stunning?
When light shines through
And glows up onto you
Does it not make you feel
As if you're in the presence of true beauty?
Pretty things don’t have to be bright
Is the night sky not breathtaking?
As it blesses you with its view?
The stars are bright, if you still deny
There are starts in all of us
Even those who are perceived
As darkness through and through
Are you not brought to your knees
By the vision of your love?
Wrapped in the warmth of your home
And the safety of your arms?
Does she not make you believe
She’s from heaven up above?
Stained glass can be
Of any color, shape, or size,
And while it can be pink,
That's not the only hue
The night sky is dark
But it somehow still sparkles
Happiness can shine through
In even the darkest of few

The Magic Show

There once was a man
Resident of nay
A traveler in a sense
A nomad, you could say
His profession? You ask?
Well, the man is a magician
A performer in a sense
This nomad of a man traveled
Went on tour
His magic earned its marvels
The eyes that all adored
One day, he stands
His opening act and cries
"Come fourth, I need a volunteer"
A little boy stands from his seat
He crosses the room with his little kid feet
Egar, was he, for the magician to meet
He approached the stage and was lifted up on
The magician handed down the mic
And with his little kid hands
The little boy grabbed
The amplifying device
With his little kid voice
He stated his name
Even his age
And when the nomad prompted,
He shared his favorite game
The little boy helped
With his little kid hands
And his little kid voice
And his little ability to understand
He locked the magic man with handcuffs
He drew and showed the crowd his card
He stood around
The whole show
The magic man's assistant
Then, at the end
His participation appreciated
The magician says to the crowd
"Who liked the little boys show?
Who thinks he did swell?"
The crowd jumps and lets out big "woo!"s
But there is one man
A man with his eyes downcast
And his hands on his lap
Who makes no sound
The magician, happily, points the man out,
He says "You, sir"
"Why do you not clap?
Do you think this poor little boy's performance was bad?"
He says "I do, I cannot lie,
I will not shout, or jump for joy"
Now, for obvious reasons
The little boy is sad
Now the little boy
Believes he did bad
The magician leans down
Tells the boy to cheer up
Says, "no matter what it is, an assignment or a job,
"An essay or a project
"Someone won't like it, and that's okay,
"Maybe it's not that person's favorite
"There is no reason to linger on it
"They like what they like
"And you wrote what you wrote
"What matters is not the majority vote
"What's done is done
"Now that's in the past
He tells the little boy
"Now there's where your vision casts"
He turns the little boy
By his little kid shoulders
Says "focus on the good
"And forever be happy"
and that's from the magician
Who's never told a story.

Dance

First you steal my heart
So may I have this dance?
Perhaps you’ll steal my last name next
It’s a tit for tat
When you steal this
I steal that
We dig dig dig
Deeper into this pit
This pit we have dubbed “love”
First you stole my heart
Then I stole a dance
You stole my priorities
So I took your attention
Next you take up half my house
So I steal your affection
It’s a tit for tat
When I steal this
You steal that
But you don’t steal from me
You simply replace things
So when you stole half my bed
I stole half your time
And I don’t force things
I don’t like to
I guess
But you’ll take my last name next
The end.

martyr

I told you I'd die
For what I believed in
You made me a martyr
Tore me into pieces
I confided in you
You were all I knew
All I could ever worship
Through all my hardship
I told you I'd die
For what I believed in
I believed you and I
Could really make it
I told you I'd die
For what I believed in
You made me a martyr
Tore me into pieces

fate

It feels as if all
The stars in the sky
Will pull us apart
