Please, Remind Me

Please, remind me.
Remind me that I am loved.
When I cannot love myself.

Please, remind me.
Remind me of the funny memories.
To bring sunshine on my darkest days.

Please, remind me.
Remind me of my greatest qualities.
To strength my mental muscles,
Against the shadows of life.

Please, remind me.
Remind me that it’s okay to cry.
Only warm tears can defrost,
An aching heart.

Please, remind me.
Remind me that it’s okay to ask for help.
Even if I need you to ask for me.
Only with warm blankets of interest
Can the debt of depression be paid.

Please, remind me.
That I am worth surviving this.
Only through the survival of living.
Can truly flourish and thrive.

Earth’s Final Cry

I weep as I write these words.
Just as the doomsday clock tick tock.
My tears from the ice melting drip drop.
When the atmosphere I made for you breaks.
When my waters cover the lands.
We will be frozen in time, faces and hands.

I used my lungs to let you breathe.
Just as your lungs give me what I need to let you.
A miracle of life’s beautiful harmonic exchange.
Totally misunderstood as you chop mine down to make your wood.

I gave you everything you needed but you took so much more.
How will you swim to safety when my tears reclaim my shores.
When my volcanoes roar and explode with anger.
You just stop and stare. Do you even care?

You dig up my children and call them fossil fuels.
You burn them and expect me not to grieve at their second funeral.
Just as the doomsday clock tick tock.
My tears from the ice melting drip drop.
When the atmosphere I made for you breaks.
When my waters cover lands.
We will be frozen in time, faces and hands.

What will you do when I am exhausted.
The vitamins and minerals that sustain you also sustain me.
How will you breathe when I cannot?
Your lungs will gasp with your stomach in knots.

Do you weep as you read these words?
Just as the doomsday clock tick tock.
My tears from the ice melting drip drop.
When the atmosphere I made for you breaks.
When my waters cover the lands.
We will be frozen in time, faces and hands.
