The fire within

Love is the flame that burns so bright
But only in the darkest night
A fire that no wind can douse
A burning heart within the house

You are the spark that lights the blaze
A flame that forever will amaze
In every flicker, I see your eyes
A love that never, ever dies

It is not the heat that makes us burn
But the way our hearts, together, churn
In the fire, we are free
For in the flames, I find you and me.

Beneath the Stars, Where Silence Weeps

I lie beneath the heavens, blind to skies,
For stars have turned their faces, cold and dim.
The moon, once bold, now wears a mournful guise,
And whispers truths that fade into the brim.

My heart, a shattered mirror, cracked with time,
Its edges cut by shadows, deep and vast.
Each breath a war, each thought a fleeting crime,
A memory drowned in echoes of the past.

The night, a cloak that smothers every light,
The firmament devours all my fragile hope.
My tears, once clear, now fall in blighted flight,
A broken chord, a tangled, fraying rope.

The end draws near, a voice so soft, so sweet—
Yet I, bound in chains, have lost the strength to meet.
