Speak Up

Stand up for the weak and speak up for the quiet.

When people are bullied they are forced to hide it.

They are scared and afraid and they want to speak up.

But they know if they do that they might get beat up.

They suffer in silence and don't say a word.

They're so close to suicide because their feelings are hurts.

By the time we figure it out it's already too late.

Another persons life has been taken away.

Stand up for the weak they can't do this alone.

And speak up for the quiet because they can't speak on their own.

Unspoken

Words left unspoken.

Feelings kept inside.

The anger and resentment just makes me cry.

I can never confront you to talk it out.

It seemed like you never wanted me around.

My mind is so cluttered with anger and grief that I can't even remember all our good memories.

I loved you i helped and I'd do it again but you were never grateful for what I did.

There was so many times I cleaned your house because I knew it was hard for you to get around.

The COPD got you it took your life and I was the one who had to watch you decline

I was the one who had to watch you take your last breath and I will never be able to get that out of my head

It was me who was there for you the day that you died I cried so much that I feel numb inside

I only have one question that will never be answered.

Did you really love me?

Did I even matter?

There are so many things that are left unspoken

And now I am bound to be forever broken

Control

Control its the power of easily manipulating someone.

Telling them what to do, what to wear and how to live.

It's them discriminating against you because you're different.

They feel empowered Superior when they are getting what they want.

They know they can tell you what to do and you'll listen simply because you have no choice.

They see you as your disability and not as a regular person.

They underestimate you think that you can't think for yourself or take care of yourself when you have been for years.

And When you finally break free from them and their control they turn on you.

They are mad they call you names they disown you they tell you your dead to them and turn people against you.

And you are relieved that you are not being controlled anymore.

You're finally your own person it's a bittersweet feeling but still takes its toll on your mental health sometimes.

It's you learning to be strong but not trusting anyone.

It's scary and you feel alone but you can do it you have to do it.

You have no choice you have to learn to be strong to stay strong.

There are days where you feel like you're going to break but you hold it together.

You hide your pain behind a mask so no one can see it and you hide it well.

There are things you can and can't control I'm not one of them.

Jealousy

Jealousy it's a ugly green monster.

We are all victims of it we are all jealous of something or somebody.

It's a feeling nobody can help it is just there.

It comes in all forms.

It's that girl with the better clothes and shiny hair.

It's that girl with the prettier face and the hotter body.

It's that girl you know who can easily take your boyfriends away.

It's the nicer things she owns the better car the bigger house.

You think She's everything you're not.

You doubt yourself you feel bad you think you will never measure up to her because she's perfect.

But in reality nobody is perfect not even her.

You're unique everyone has insecurities we would not be human if we didn't.

Jealousy is something that eventually consumes us.

And it will if we let it.

Change

Change is everywhere.

It's life It's painful but at times.

It's also joyful.

It's starting high school and playing sports.

It's graduating from high school and starting college.

It's graduating college and pursuing your career.

It's pursuing your career and getting your first house.

It's getting your first house and having your own kids.

It's having your own kids to growing old with you spouse.

It's the blessing of having grandkids that you thought you never have.

It's losing a loved one but blessed you got the chance to love them and make a life with them.

There are plenty of scary things about change but sometimes it's a good thing.

Be yourself

Be yourself don't hide who you are.

You're sweet you're beautiful and you're very smart.

You're strong you're brave and you're very wise.

Just be yourself don't wear a disguise.

Don't be ashamed of who you are.

Just be yourself you're a shining star.

Why fit in when you were born to stand out.

You're one of a kind and you should be proud.

Devyn

There will be a day where I'm not by your side.

And when that day comes I don't want you to cry.

Just remember that I love you and I am always in your heart.

And As long as you carry my memory with you we will never be apart.

I'm writing you this poem just to let you know that even when I'm gone You will never be alone.

You are strong.

You are beautiful.

And You are very smart.

And the best thing about you is you've always had a good heart.

The only thing I ask is that you never change your ways.

Because you've always been perfect in every single way.

I want you to be happy like you were when I was alive.

Please don't let the fact that I'm gone ruin your whole life.

I want you to be happy like your happy now.

The one thing I always hated was when I sometimes made you frown.

You are not only my life You are my world too.

I've never loved anyone as much as I loved you.

You are outstanding.

And amazing.

And sometimes sassy too.

Those are one of many things I've always loved about you.

So I want you to keep this poem and hold it close to your heart.

So that way when you miss me you won't completely fall apart.

Please do not cry please don't be sad.

I promise I'm okay I may have left this world but I am now in a better place.

Not sure how I feel

Some days I think I miss you.

Other times I'm mad.

Sometimes I'm glad your gone but at the same time I am sad.

I often stop and remember one of the memories you have shared.

When you told me that your mom never really cared.

You said you dream about her but she never ever talks.

But I would say you're just like her a two face back stabbing mom.

I love you but I hate you it messes with my grief because I'm not sure how I feel now that you're deceased

Jackee

Sometimes I think I miss you

And even want to reach out

But then I always remember how you ran me out of town

I came up from Pennsylvania in hopes to reconnect

But then all my hopes suddenly turned in to regret

You set me up to fail you knew I couldn't do it alone

And you said unless I gave up me and devyns rights I would have to do it on my own

I knew what was going to happen and I knew what to expect

So I made my moves in silence and moved to Oregon.

You say I ran away to everyone you know.

But last time I checked I was 35 years old.

You discriminated against me every chance you got

You say that you're a Christian when you're really not.

I try to forgive you but it's really hard to do

Especially since half the time I just want to hit you.

But then again that's not me I wouldn't do that

but it hurts to know everyone has her back

My brothers don't talk to me because of her.

They see me as this awful person who ran away to Oregon and scared her

She plays the victim well I have to give her that

But the real victim is in Oregon trying to plan what's next

She can breathe

She's relieved

She isn't too stressed

She's finally happy that she's out of that mess

She may not know what the future will hold

But she relies on her faith because it keeps her afloat

Fall

Pumpkin spice lattes and hooded shirts.

Witches and scarecrows and Halloween skirts.

Goblins and monsters that scare you at night.

Black cats and ghost that will give you a fright.

Costumes and candy and Halloween cheer.

This is by far the best time of the year.
