Talk to me

I talk to you but you don't talk back
I want you to talk to me at night
Talk to me in the morning, during the day
Talk to me happy
Talk to me like you care
I want to be able to call you and we talk all night
To the point that I fall asleep to the sound of your voice
Because out of all the sounds in the world
Your voice is my favorite
Talk to me like you want to
Talk to me like you mean it
Talk to me like you need me to breathe
Talk to me like you want to know me
Talk to me like I’m not always going to be here
Talk to me like you'll die without me
Like you need me to live
Is this just a one way relationship
Or will you talk to me like you need me to always be there
Talk to me kind
Talk to me sweet
Talk to me like you’re afraid to stop
Because if you stop I’ll disappear
Talk to me when you’re sad
Talk to me when you’re mad
Talk to me everyday
Talk to me like I talk to you
Because that's all that makes me glad
But even when you won’t talk to me
I’ll always talk to you
Still hoping one day I’ll talk to you
And you’ll talk back to me

Anxiety

Anxiety—
it grips my heart.

Tightens
its hold
on my chest.

It squeezes…
and squeezes.

I can’t breathe.

It’s like my lungs
stopped working.

I breathe faster—
and faster—
and get
less
and less
oxygen.

The less oxygen I get
the faster I breathe.

But the faster I breathe—
the less oxygen I get.

It’s an endless circle
that won’t stop.

My mind runs millions of miles an hour.
It never stops—
it keeps going—
speeding up
faster
and faster—

racing toward a finish line
too far
for my eyes
to see.

I cry out for it to stop.

No one hears my cries.
They just walk past—
consumed
by their own
mental battles.

I beg for everything to pause.

It never stops.
It never pauses.

I spiral into a panic attack.
My hands shake so bad
I can’t control them.

My ears ring—
drowning out the world
that has suffocated me.

My legs refuse to work.

I just want to scream…

But when I try—

Nothing comes out.

Tears roll down my face.
I can’t stop them.

My body convulses from the attack.
I lay on the ground, unmoving—

yet still shaking.

Crying
for it
to stop.

It hurts.

Everything
just hurts
so bad.

I can’t control the pain.

I lay there,
stuck in limbo—

trapped
between
the air
and the floor.

Finally…
after the struggle…
I can breathe again.

But it doesn’t make me feel better.

’Cause I know
I’ll go through the same routine again—

tomorrow.
And the day after that.

Because anxiety
never stops.

The cycle
never ends.

The Shadows Prayer

Why does everyone love you?
That's an unfair question.
How could they not love you?

I love you -
but I'm stuck in your shadow.
Always with you…
but never truly seen.

‘Cause why would you look at someone's shadow
When the true form
is right there?

I'm scared to introduce you to my friends.
Because I'm afraid they will like you more.
I'm afraid they will leave me -
for you.

You don't know this…
but it's happened before.

We had a performance.
You got flowers -
from four different people.
I got to watch you walk around
with flowers..
from four people who love you,

while I walked around
hands empty.

You walk into a room -
it’s like the sun warming up a chilly day.
All eyes turn to you.

You make everyone happy.
You make me happy.
But you also make me hate myself.

Sometimes I’m feeling great -
I feel like me, and it feels good.
I think I have it all together for once…

then I look at you,
and realize I'll never live up.

It's not like it's your fault.
You can't help it.
You’re just being you -
perfect, lovable you.

When I look at you,
there isn't a flaw in sight.
And trust me…
I’ve searched.

I don't want to be jealous.
But I'm afraid it might be true.

You deserve everything good in this world.
And I know if you got that,
You would share it with me too.

It's why I love you so much.
It’s why the whole world
seems to love you too

If I could only be half as good as you…
it would make my day.
But you’re an impossible standard -
the most impossible standard.

It hurts just to be around you,
just to hear your voice -
‘cause even that
sounds like a gift from God

You’re my favorite person…
but am I yours?

How can I be -
when literally everybody
is in love with you?

You’re my best friend.
My number one.
My forever first pick.

I'll be by your side
forever and always.
Because I love you -
just like everyone else.

Maybe everyone loving you
is the issue.

When everyone is in love with you,
I get lost in the mess.
I think that's it.

Maybe it's that you’re always
the center of attention,

while I'm sitting in the background,
watching you fly.

But maybe
It's that nobody loves me
even half as much
as they love you.

I wish I was like you -
but I'd never wish for you to be less.
‘Cause you would never wish that
for me.

I guess it's everything.
I just want to be loved -
not by just anyone…
I want to be loved by you

Because if someone everyone loves...
loves me…

maybe,
just maybe…
I can be worth something.

Almost - E

We could've been perfect -
Almost forever.

You promised me forever…
Then ripped it away from me.

So many almosts.
You were almost my person.

I wanted it to be you.
I wanted it to be you so badly.

Almost…
So close…

Then you closed the book on our story.
You left.
Turned around..
And walked away.

Leaving empty pages -
Waiting to be filled.

It was almost me + you.
We almost made it to
“‘Til death do us part”.

But it wasn't.

I wanted it to be you,
Even as you slipped away -
Out of my grasp.

I almost held on to you…
Until you let go.

Now I’m back at square one,
Asking the question:

Am I always gonna be
Somebody’s almost -

You Didn't Cheat

No -
technically
you didn't cheat.

Technically,
we had broken up.

But you got with her
two days later.

You didn't tell me about this.
She didn't tell me about this.

You were my boyfriend.
She was my friend.

Technically -
you didn't cheat.

But you were talking to her
while we were together.

You dated her for two days -
if you could even call that dating.

You told her you loved her.
Then you broke her heart.

You didn't tell me about this.
She didn't tell me about this.

You weren't my boyfriend anymore.
She wasn't my friend anymore.

That same night -
you got back together with me.

You didn't just not cheat on me…
You did it to her too.

No, technically -
you didn't cheat.

But you kept talking to her
after all this.

You started talking to my best friend.

I asked about it -
and you said it wasn’t nothing.
(It wasn't nothing.)

Technically,
you didn't cheat.

You just broke up with me again
And got with my best friend
two weeks later.

You didn't tell me about this.
She did tell me about this.

You weren't my boyfriend anymore.
She wasn't my best friend anymore.

No -
you didn't cheat

But you didn't tell me anything.
