WAR

WAR

Woven into the night, I saw
A sky adorned with gray stars.
Like meteors, they touched the earth
But it was too late; it wasn’t a wish.
With momentum, the voices arose,
Screams of terror flashed through firelit rubble,
An endless wailing echoing farther.
Greed was what brought us down,
And longing wrote our fate in red.
Kings who sat on sky-high thrones
Shall not notice the cries below.
Only our own lives left to burn out
In an endless void of peace.
Our hands can tie themselves
From soul to soul so that we may remain.
Like honeybees we were,
Following the queen blindly for life.
Yet we must remember:
Unity brought us peace,
Whilst war ruined it all
Our dreams crushed
And hearts left solitary.

Pilgrimage in Darkness

*Pilgrimage in Darkness*

I walked through countless paths
Worn down by memories
Each footprint is a spiritual guide
Like a fleeting ray of light
Disappearing with moment's grace
In search of the enlightened mind
Through the darkest of nights
Stumbling upon the various folds of the Earth
To be enveloped in the dark
Victory— a distant thought
Covered by the path of failure
And the thousand needles of destiny
I felt upon nimble feet
I am starved and parched
Deprived of the feeling of hope
Illusion plagued my mind
But only a holy light restored it
Like an endless dream
I wander on
Through thick and thin
'Til my feet are torn
At last we are here!
At the peak of human life!
The nectar of peace upon my throat
As the seed of wisdom took root.

Battles in history

Through the plains and valleys they creep,
Throwing away their lives for man’s desire.
With death and hope in tow,
They carry the burdens of countless nations,
Believing in something so far away —
Be it the freedom that evil holds hostage
Or the greed of a single man.
And still they battle in those treacherous lands,
An anguished, silent cry as they wish for their loved ones
Far away in their homelands, waiting for them,
Singing prayers and praises in their stead.
Calloused hands that were beyond wear and tear,
And weapons imbued with the strength, blood, and tears.
The fallen lay, blessed by God,
While the others hide from His wrath.
But all shall be in vain, for His eyes still watch us from afar,
And they shall all beg for Him when the time comes.
When they know that they shall fail,
They speak with pitiful remorse about their lives:
“May the good God bless us through this war.”
