i am you, you are me

if you are i
and me is will
will my words seek a thrill
through carnivorous caverns
and molten hills
at the top's a flag
which you have peaked

if you are me
and my will is yours
will everything i speak become assured
like flying nats and stinging bees
the creature inside of your skin
wants to be free

if I am you
and your will is fire
then i know your truest desire
break from the shell
that holds you closed
and show the world what you behold

If i am thou
and thy art i
A message from me to you will withstand time
and so it seems no matter the streams
the flow of your river
is a fraction of my sea

And if I is me
and you are I
Then what i hold
you hold dear in mind
so you are me
and i am you
and no matter what
your will breaks through

The woman, a feather

The woman, a feather
She flows in the wind
Plucked from her nest
And strewn from end to end
Dipped in ink
And signed to me
A letter a word a verse to see
She flutters and shivers with each passing chill
And yet i love her without any thrill
From calmest passing's
To darkest night
The woman stays
and holds me tight

Spite in shouts

cold
calculated
formal
scared

words describing the features i bare
the ones given to me by the force beyond my control
by hands and words that shaped my mold

are you proud, are you happy
do these words bring you grace
knowing i never have to come back to your gaze

escaped from the prison
and the holding cell
the room i locked myself in
a confinement in hell

churned and burned
like sand into glass
i evolved my thinking
to be faster and at last

I broke from your grip
even if you say it was held dear
at the end of the day i choose to disappear

You are who you are

You are who you are
no matter your origin
you are who you are
no matter what happened
you are who you are
no matter the future
you are who you are
no matter the past
you are who you are
no matter the mirror
you are who you are
no matter the day, week, month, or year
you are who you are

through all the pain
through all of life
through every tear
shed and bled
your figure stays strong
you stand, you sit, you lean, you lay

you are who you are
and you wouldn't have it any other way

Clown car

From lights and stilts
the hat tips down
an adoring voice
welcomes the crowd

From end to end the tent fills with laughter
and every second there's a passing actor
from the car you drove in residing inside
the make up covers your face and tears in your eyes

you'd never thought you'd be here
you'd never thought to try
but in the end at the circus
the tight rope you walk on
was not held so high

so keep your chin up
and raise your fist
honk your horn
and balance on your wrist

for this is the show
and you are the clown
and the only fool that is here
is the crowd left profound

To my sun

Shining and breathing
your glow illuminates your features
with every passing week becoming stronger and stronger
to long for your touch your hug and warmth
half of me that takes your form
I want to see you with my eyes and have them not burn
my sun i praise
with each passing day
may we meet each other soon
no matter the morning evening or afternoon

Free from your poison

After all this time
you held my hand
you shoved me away
and came back again
you continued to strike and fill me more and more
the poison you had left me acidic
filled with lust and a bond trauma inspired
you coiled and writhed when i became tired

but in the end i separated the strains
that made you so poisonous in my veins
and free from the poison that you shot into me
i was finally able to see
with every passing second my hatred grew lighter
and i told myself to turn the other cheek
with a new outlook and a burning fire
i moved on while you stayed sour

So take it as is or take it as not
when i broke past a new sight came and i shot my shot
a better friend and lover then you'd ever be
and now I'll never think about you in eternity

When I Fail

Know my intentions
When i lose
Feel my emotions

I watch as the fire erupts quick
Such flames never amiss
As the smoke rises
And the people try to stop it

As it consumes
I hold you dearly
Just as the fog becomes endearing
I feel my lungs shutting down slowly
As your breath seems shallow and holy

When i fail
Know i wanted to help you
When i lose
I wanted what's best for you
When i’m gone
This path seems implosive
As i know
As you know I’m closed in

Tighter in my arms i hold you
As you look out at the world consumed
There's clear fear in your mind now
But i am here as everything slows down

As your head falls on my shoulder
And you whisper the words that crush like boulders
My love, i thought we grow older

When i fail
Know that i loved you
When i lose
Hear my heart beating true
When we’re gone
As the fire grows too
As you know
As i know our time is through
