Samwise

Unstoppable wags
A full-body affection
Welcoming you home

Fast boi clique founder
Speed beyond Sunday confines
Yearns for open fields

Grabs life by the ball
Persistent in the pursuit
Pride in possession

Curiosity
Cautious in discovery
Bold exclamation

Squared Circle Reverence - a senryu series

Always cream rises
Greater than a single cup
Madness embodied

Too vast for this world
Gentle generosity
Quiet tenderness

Bravado to prove
Excellence executed
Best there's ever been

Revelled in reveal
Lionheart magnificence
Broken, the walls fell

Cold steel posts stand tall
Bear witness to spectacle
Squared Circle - the stage

Eternal Peace

Monument alone
Signifies memory, home
Rest, visitation

Defined rows, sigils
Communal solitude, rest
Dearly beloved

Granite silhouettes
Populate the shrinking span
Reminders of loss

Legacy in stone
Life beautifully engraved
Everlasting love

Fractured World

Penetrating cold.
Decry warmth, compassion -
world is lost, twisted.

Innocence forgave,
Indoctrinated hate, strikes -
Inescapable!

Overwhelming fear,
Far right reaches to arm -
Flashes, pain, darkness.

Propaganda rise.
Educated disbelief,
words failing to heal.

Fascism, no regard;
Resounding hatred echoed -
Elites unburdened.

Rich unencumbered,
Preying on the downtrodden -
Reverse Robin Hood.

Tech-bro oligarchy;
Puppeteers the White House,
Bent knee to Pontiff.

2025:
Rage consumed populous;
kindness - a lost art.

Remembrance

defined rows, sigils

Daughters

Glowing all your own
Radiant aura brimming warmth
My daughter my heart

Hidden strength unknown
Restrained by fear and doubt
Depth of heart protects

Both so similar
Silent bonds enshrined in love
Shared foundation

My Town

Lunenburg, small town.
Beckoning in warmer months,
Asleep in the cold.

Lunenburg, quiets.
Visitors venture homeward.
She's ours once more.

Lunenburg, silent streets.
The season has come and gone.
Through the cold we wait.

Lunenburg, warm sun.
The salt air guides you home -
visit, stay, welcome.

My town, salty air.
Smells, sounds, of industry gone.
Rejuvenated.

Healing

How to start healing -
Arms wide open, embrace "we."
Untether I, me.

Masculine Weight - a senryu series

Masculinity
Perpetuate gender roles
Leave no man behind

We "don't ask, don't tell"
Our mentals left unspoken
Outcast behaviour

Ask for help, weakness
Boys don't...men don't cry - weakness
Suicide, weakness

Return to Grace

Sun rises again
Horizon's edge warm glow
Revitalizing hope

Forgiveness and love
Gifts unconditionally
Heals the most fractured

Seeing listening
Eye contact warm expressions
Human connection

Everlasting warmth.
Floating rejuvenation -
Awaken prepared
