Raja Tayyab Ijaz Chib Poem
I am riding on determination and courage,
Going to cross the mysterious woodland.
Across the river, I met with luck and opportunity.
"Don’t go there alone," they warned me,
"For many before you went,
But lost their lives in the dim light of the dreary forest.
The ways are ambiguous,
The paths are winding,
And haunting sounds echo through the air.
Ride with us—leave behind determination and courage.
We’ll give you a smooth journey,
Free of afflictions and troubles.
The woods know us well,
And we’ll turn the woodland into a wonderland."
I paused for a while and closed my eyes.
My mouth was silent, but my heart began to speak:
"Graceful and successful people always choose the difficult path.
They do not rely on luck and opportunity—
And that makes all the difference.
Triumph demands courage and determination,
Not luck and opportunity."
I opened my eyes with renewed resolution
And a clearer vision.
I continued my journey with courage and determination,
Leaving luck and opportunity behind.

Raja Tayyab Ijaz Chib Poem
After two scores and ten, a stranger met a weary soul,
With scattered hair and a faded face, resembling a ghost.
“We have crossed paths before, I am certain,”
the stranger said in a trembling voice.
“Years of struggle have passed,
yet the standards of our nation have fallen low.
That is why a teacher like me appears this way.
Education has been handed over to businessmen
who honor no principles
and worship only money.
These wrinkles and crooked fingers
reflect the sickness of our social fabric.
We have lost our dignity
and the very purpose of our lives.
Now we labor endlessly,
chasing money in lonely silence.
The knowledge that once enlightened us
is now disregarded and disgraced.
Our goals have shifted,
our direction is lost.
Teachers are mocked, stripped of respect,
while the corrupt and notorious
are honored instead.
In a gentle but solemn voice,
the stranger declared:
“Pakistan must mend its ways
if it wishes to save the heart of education.”
With that, the stranger stepped out of the dark jungle
onto the straight path,
where light shone brightly
from the right corner of the forest.

Raja Tayyab Ijaz Chib Poem
By passing through the woods at night,
I met a mysterious creature with burning red eyes,
Staring at me from behind the mound in the silence.
His dreadful gaze flared without a single blink,
A giant in a dark cloak, moving toward me without motion.
My heart raced swiftly, as if it already knew the danger.
My mind wove countless doubts that weighed me down,
Yet I gathered all my courage and refused to move.
I looked back at him, though I felt the ground slipping away.
Then, in a heavy voice, he spoke:
“No one has ever stood firm as you do in this black forest.”
With steady breath, I answered,
“Till my destination, I shall not leave my way — I am resolved.”
He glared at me a moment more,
Then turned aside and left the path.
And I walked on with determination and courage,
Carrying the light of my will through the shadows of night.

Raja Tayyab Ijaz Chib Poem
In the dark night of the jungle,
During a thunderstorm and heavy rain,
A lone fawn appears in flashes of lightning,
Separated from its mother,
Frightened by wild creatures and wilderness.
The roar of clouds
And the terrifying roar of the king
Force it to hide behind a mound.
Time stretches like years,
Yet its endurance bears fruit.
The clouds lose their fury before the fragile fawn
And drift away like a defeated army.
Stars emerge; the fawn’s hope strengthens.
The moon lights its trembling path.
After a few dreadful hours,
Guided by patience and faith,
The fawn reunites with its mother
In the silver light of the moon.

Raja Tayyab Ijaz Chib Poem
What happens in a jungle at night
when you leave the winding path
in the evening in a thick forest?
What scenes wild animals create—
what dreadful shapes move in the dark
among birds and trees,
you never truly know.
How terrible the wind may sound,
how silence presses
on every living soul.
The green leaves of the trees
seem to fade to yellow
under the weight of dark shadows.
The whole night is alive
with strange, unheard sounds—
a whisper of twigs,
a flutter of wings,
a rustle moving unseen.
It is like when you sleep at night—
you never truly know
where you are,
where your soul travels.
Yet when morning comes,
the jungle turns gentle and bright.
It looks like a fairyland,
full of life and quiet blessings.
Nothing seems strange;
no trace of the fearful night remains.
Just as when you wake in the morning—
refreshed and peaceful,
unaware of the storms
that passed while you slept.
Perhaps we do not need
to know everything.
Some shadows are kinder
when left unnamed.
Keep moving toward what matters.
Much happens around us,
yet entangling ourselves in every mystery
can shake confidence,
make the spirit fragile,
and disturb the quiet of the heart.

Raja Tayyab Ijaz Chib Poem
Passing through the fields of Punjab,
sitting behind my father on a bike,
a sensation rose in me
at the call of a Ruston engine
breathing from a mud-bricked room.
Its call sounded as if from another world,
which touched my heart
and settled there forever—
one of the most unforgettable moments
of my life.
When I grew older,
I wandered from village to village
just to hear that iron nightingale
singing in the dawns of rural Punjab.
In my wanderings I discovered
that at night its echo,
deep in the quiet fields,
was like a spotted owlet
resting in the dark.
Now its music grows rare.
But whenever it reaches my ears,
the fields return—
golden crops bending in the wind,
silver canals under the sky,
and a little boy on a moving bike
holding his father
as the villages pass.

Raja Tayyab Ijaz Chib Poem
A bird is flying in the sky,
Moving toward the jungle side.
All alone, with no support,
Its only guide—a dim moonlight,
Stained by drifting clouds above.
Winter’s season is in bloom,
The trees hold no more nests—
Once a haven, now abandoned.
Snow falls without a pause,
Branches empty, heavy with flakes.
The bird flies toward an unknown fate,
Against all odds, with a lion’s heart.
A creature of flight, it shows resilience,
Until, in the quiet of the night,
It disappears from sight.

Raja Tayyab Ijaz Chib Poem
In the Pabbi Hills,
A couple of decades ago,
A small village called Mayyrr glowed
In the tender night of spring.
From every home, tiny flames flickered,
Like a swarm of fireflies—
Some crowning the upper slopes,
Some resting in the valley below.
The night was alive with gentle chatter,
Elders sharing tales and quiet laughter,
Warmth flowing beside their brass lanterns,
Stories unfolding, softly, like smoke in the air.
Lanterns poured love through their golden flame,
Wicks drawing oil from the reservoir,
As time, silently, drew life from the old folk—
Yet left their warmth, wisdom, and light
Lingering across the hills,
A memory that glows forever.

Raja Tayyab Ijaz Chib Poem
Sitting in a corner of a hospital,
Reading the weather of faces,
An invisible line divides the people:
One still holds a trace of courage,
Others’ eyes are filled with misery.
Moving toward the haunted silence of ICU
Of an illustrious military hospital,
Amid all the luxurious equipment,
There is a doomsday silence.
Somewhere, a dreadful sound is heard—
Pumping oxygen into an unconscious man;
Its sound—like a ticking clock,
Measuring the time left
Till the end of a world.
In the wards, too, a distinction lies:
Some eyes glitter with fragile hope,
Some, in despair and sickness, grow dim.
It is harsh to breathe
In that mourning environment.
Why are we born,
If the end is this cruel?
Miseries, atrocities, afflictions—
Even here, between breath and silence.

Raja Tayyab Ijaz Chib Poem
The tree stands quiet
In the absence of birds.
Its branches, once bright with song,
Now sway with a lonely sound.
The wind moves through its leaves,
And they whisper like tired memories.
Empty nests rest on fragile twigs—
Small homes that once held warmth.
It remembers the gentle mornings
When songs rose with the sun,
When little heads lifted from the nest
And the sky seemed full of promise.
How alive those hours were.
Now the color of its leaves fades,
Turning yellow with the season—
And with longing.
The birds have flown
Toward warmer lands,
Following a softer light,
Dreaming of safer days ahead.
The old tree remains behind,
Rooted in faithful soil.
It feels the cold more deeply now,
But it does not curse the sky.
It knows that wings are meant to travel,
And youth must search for distant hope.
Still, in the long evenings of winter,
When the air grows thin and still,
It holds their vanished songs
Like a quiet ache within its heart—
Proud that it once gave them shelter,
Even if it must now stand alone.
