Karly Nation Poem
Do you remember that day when the blanket wasn’t blue but it was pink,
Do you remember that girl playing with toy guns, and getting dirty like the little boys do,
Do you remember the little girl not wearing pink or purple like the little girls did, I do,
Do you remember that spiraling football, your little girl threw just right one day while throwing the football around, cause I sure do,
Do you remember the little girl whose now a woman walking across that stage for that degree with a big smile on her face, I do
Do you remember that little girl getting married to that man, that you don’t recognize,
Do you remember what you said to her right before you walked her down the isle, cause I do
Remember you said, “are you wearing that necklace like that?” Your little girl looked at you and said “Dad, I can’t without her!”
Do you remember how you felt in that moment, when you realized that little girl, wasn’t your little girl? Because I do!

Karly Nation Poem
I didn’t see her face.
you did!
I didn’t get to hear of sweet little girl voice.
You did!
I didn’t get to hear her say mommy and daddy!
You did!
I didn’t get to hold her tight.
You did!
I don’t get to dream about her.
You do!
I had all the pain, and the blood, and the agony.
But in the end we both are without her everyday!
(Dedicated to Peyton)
