Diamond Dee Poem
An Angel,
How could you breathe life into someone so twisted, rotten to the core?
A Beauty,
How can something that came from you be so ugly, inside and out?
A Queen,
A calamity your face sits on a peasant, so unworthy of your image.
A Warrior,
How can an offspring of yours be this weak and pathetic?
A Champion,
A shame you bore a loser that is always defeated, giving nothing but disgrace.
A Saint,
How come something that's supposed to be of you have turned out so viscous, cruel and unkind?
But the real question is,
How can someone as perfect as you beget a monster like me?

Diamond Dee Poem
Why is my face split in two?
A twin I call her
Confident and beautiful
Funny and entertaining
Her smiles light up every room.
A life of the party
Excellent in every word.
A frown I like to wear
I leave the smiles to her
It suits just one of us.
I think I'm not that pretty
The face we share says different
And even when people tell me
I think they speak of her.
I hate when people see me
They want me to be her
They expect charm and charisma
And then my jokes fall flat.
I'm in my head a lot
Thinking how to become her.
Never together we are
Always one at every time.
I cannot talk about her
And she herself can't too
Cause then people would notice
She's one and I'm the same.
A person I created
To make myself feel safe
But then she turned out
Better than I ever was.
But only in her shadows
I find the solace I seek.
And I hope that maybe someday
She's all that I'll become.

Diamond Dee Poem
Voices in my head
Never cheer or praise
Laughter only when they mock me
Highlighting all my inadequacies
Making me feel only shame.
Voices in my head
Loudest when my eyes are closed
Never let me rest
Bringing up all my flaws
Making me feel so sad.
Voices in my head
Causing just pain
Screaming I'm not enough
Even when I do my best
Making sure I feel unworthy.
Voices in my head
Picking apart my sanity
Creating false narrative
Questioning my memories
Making me feel insane.
Voices in my head
I wish to silence
I hope they'll go away
Leaving me alone
Making me feel at peace.
Voices in my head
I know is me
Maybe if I went away
They'll finally go too
No more inadequacies, sadness or shame.

Diamond Dee Poem
The shackles that hold me
Visible to my eye alone.
The collar around my neck
Only cause I allow it.
The chains around my feet
Have bound me to this prison,
A prison I call home
But feels a dungeon.
The boulder on my chest
Shouldn't keep me so stunted,
But what a great locksmith
I've turned out to be
An oppressor I have made me
To hold myself in place
And even when I try to
I cannot let me go.
A slave I have turned me
To serve until I'm dead.
But maybe someday
Unshackled I'll become.

Diamond Dee Poem
To be or not to be
To smile or not to smile
To wave or not to wave.
A foe I must fight
A stranger I must meet
A friend I must greet.
Why can't I just be
A face that no one knows
A voice that no one hears
A person that no one sees.
Why can't I just live
Buried in the rubble
Head underneath the sand
Eyes closed all the time.
So no one can say
I know who that is.
