What If

What if the moon played music composed of others' thoughts and wishes? Would you hum along and carry that tune all day after the moon fades and the sun rises?

What if you could see the wind and know that it carried the hopes and dreams of others? Would you allow it to flow through and around you?

What if the sand beneath your feet held the remnants of each person's pain, and the ocean could wash away their sorrow, would you help carry it out to sea?

When you gaze up at the moon, will you let your heart sway with the wind and your soul swim in the ocean?

Never Say That Word

It is a small word
with a big bite,
the worst ever heard;
it is just not polite.

If you could hold it,
it would feel like a ton.
Beware not to use it;
it hurts, even in fun.

It never feels nice.
It should never be heard.
Please take my advice,
and use another word.

You know how it feels
when someone says it to you.
It takes forever to heal,
even though it's not true.

You must not forget.
Never make that mistake.
You will live with regret
if you use the word HATE.

Summer

Longer days
vacation stays
packed beaches
eating peaches

sudden showers
picking flowers
water slides
carnival rides

wearing shorts
playing sports
snow cones
skipping stones

riding bikes
long hikes
swimming pool
staying cool.
