Elaine Snyder Poem
A Day
Two women sat along the sea
One was Wendy, one was me
They told their stories
Laughed and cried
Underneath the sun lit sky
Both women who became fast friends
As each one had a tragic end
Two women sat along the sea
One was Wendy, one was me

Elaine Snyder Poem
Too Bright
The sun is shining
Yes, I see
It's shining bright
But not for me
The birds are chirping
Flowers bloom
But me, I'm staying in my room
The sun is shining
This I know
But I'm afraid of my own shadow

Elaine Snyder Poem
Push
My inner voice is saying
You can do it, go ahead
I want to but my brain keeps saying
No, just stay in bed
If I listen I may try to go outside of my front door
And if I go will I go on to see if I can do more?
One step at a time
Scary as it seems
I think that I can do it
I won't know till I try
And maybe then I'll realize I can
And I'll stick to it

Elaine Snyder Poem
Alone Again
Who will see me where I go
I wander alone in this world I know
Strange faces, places, changing tides
Where will I go
Where will I hide
The sun will rise each day, I'm sure
And fade as darkness comes
But me I walk alone again
Looking down and twiddling my thumbs

Elaine Snyder Poem
Love Lost
The gentle touch of his wavy hair
I look for him but he's not there
The laugh, the voice, the talks we shared
I look for him but he's not there
The warm embrace with burdens to bear
I look for him but he's not there
Come out, come out if you dare
I look for him but he's nowhere!
