John 3:16

From heaven’s heart, a gift was freely given,
A love so vast, it opens wide the gate of heaven.

He sent His Son to walk this earthly sod,
To bear our pain, to show the way to God.

Whoever trusts, no darkness need they fear,
For hope and life eternal now draw near.

No soul is lost who looks upon the cross,
For grace redeems what once was bound in loss.

So let us cling to mercy’s gentle light,
And live in love that makes the whole world right.

The Labubu Craze

Labubu grins, a curious work of art,
Kasing Lung’s dream, brought forth from the heart.
Pop Mart displays, collecting carts start,
Lisa’s embrace gives trends a new chart.

People of faith, consider your part,
Not every craze should capture your heart.
Fame’s shining lure can pull us apart,
Discernment and wisdom must always take part.

Enjoy what is lovely, but don’t let it chart
A course that could lead your soul to depart.
The world may entice with treasures and art,
But truth and love must anchor your heart.

Let light be your guide, not just what is smart,
For faith is the truest and timeless art.

Whispers of May Rain

Whispers of May Rain:
Nature’s Embrace in the Hmar Hills

May rain arrives with a scented sweep,
Over the Hmar Hills, where old memories sleep.

Each droplet recalls a childhood song,
As misty veils drift the green hills along.

The trees bow low, their leaves agleam,
While animals shelter in rain’s cool stream.

Paths turn to rivers, the world is drenched new,
Yet laughter and longing in the downpour grew.

Nostalgia stirs as thunder calls my name-
Exotic pleasure in rain, never twice the same.

Ode to the Hmar Hills

"Ode to the Hmar Hills"

No crowded streets, no city’s glare,
But Hmar Hills' green slopes and mist-kissed air—
Where Pherzawl’s rains in whispers fall,
And Senvon’s breeze outshines them all.

Oh Damdiei’s hills, so cool, so high,
Where childhood dreams still paint the sky!
No Delhi’s heat, no Mumbai’s sound,
Just Tinsuong’s peace on hallowed ground.

Let Shillong boast its fading grace,
And Shimla vie with charm so base—
For here, where heaven’s touch is near,
The heart finds home, the soul draws clear.

No sweeter rest, no kinder view—
My Hmar Hills, I cling to you.

Graced to Serve

Graced to Serve

Graced by Your light, I rise to humbly praise,
Placed in Your care, my heart begins to sing,
Faced with Your love, my soul forever stays,
Embraced by grace, new strength You daily bring.

Chased from despair, Your mercy lights my way,
Based on Your truth, my path is clear and bright,
Faced with Your call, I gladly choose to stay,
Paced by Your will, I walk in holy light.

Braced for trials, Your peace remains my shield,
Laced with Your hope, my spirit soars above,
Faced with Your joy, no fear can make me yield,
Traced by Your hand, I serve with boundless love.

Placed in Your service, thankful I remain,
Chased by Your grace, I praise Your holy name.

Celebrating Pherzawl's Serenity

Celebrating Pherzawl's Serenity

I’ve fallen in love with Pherzawl’s gentle air,
I’ve fallen in love where cool whispers dare.

Though summer scorches lands both far and near,
Though summer scorches, here the sky is clear.

I’m dreaming of Delhi’s relentless blaze,
I’m dreaming of Guwahati’s fiery haze.

Hmarkhawlien and Silchar’s blazing heat,
Hmarkhawlien and Silchar, I’m not missing that beat.

But here, soft mist cloaks all in silver shrouds,
But here, the clouds drift low like quiet crowds.

Life blooms beneath Pherzawl’s serene sky,
Life blooms beneath where cool soft breezes sigh.

May 3: Separation Day

Separation Day:

From Ashes to Unity

Upon this day, the third day of May, hills recall their pain,

When flames and fury swept across the land,

Yet through the smoke, our prayers did remain -

A hope for peace that violence could not brand.

The morning’s grief, the silence of the fields,

The shattered homes, the sanctuaries burned,

Yet from the ashes, unity now yields

A strength the foe had never truly learned.

O Zohnathlâk, tribals of the hills,

Stand firm, though chaos seeks to break your will;

Let not the taunts nor flags bring forth chills,

For unity is armor, calm and still.

May God, who saw our sorrow and our scars,

Guide us to freedom, healing from these wars.

Veils of Uncertainty

A silver bird departs, the sky serene,
Yet morning’s promise shatters in a breath;
Ash falls where laughter and bright hopes had been,
A city mourns the sudden hand of death.

In distant hills, a traveler’s path grows cold,
A journey meant for dreams, now left undone;
The news arrives—too heavy to be told—
A vanished step, a race that’s never run.

Where rivers wind through valleys deep with pine,
And pilgrims seek the solace of the land,
A shadow falls, intentions intertwine
With violence wrought by an unseen hand.

Yet through these veils, uncertain as the night,
We hold each fragile day, and seek the light.

Far Far Away from the Madding Crowd

Upon green hills where gentle breezes play,
A village wakes to greet the golden light.
No city horns disturb the break of day,
Just birds that sing and skies serenely bright.

The air is crisp, each breath a gift so pure,
With streams that babble secrets as they run.
Life moves in rhythms peaceful and demure,
Unhurried hours beneath the warming sun.

Fields stretch in green, and laughter fills the air,
Neighbors share stories by the fireside’s glow.
No restless race, no burdens hard to bear,
Just simple joys that only dreamers know.

Far, far away from crowds that rush and strive,
Here, hearts find peace and truly learn to thrive.

In Rhyme and Faith - Verses Upon the Creed of EFCI - An Ode to the EFCI Confession

1. The Scriptures shine, God-breathed and pure,
2. One triune God, eternal and sure.
3. The Father reigns, Creator above,
4. The Son, our Savior, full of grace and love.
5. The Spirit proceeds, giving life and light,
6. Humankind fallen, lost from God’s sight.
7. Salvation is grace, through faith alone,
8. Faith, Spirit-given, makes Christ our own.
9. Children of God, by blood justified,
10. Baptism and Supper, Christ’s love supplied.
11. The Church, His body, with Christ as the head,
12. Awaiting His coming, just as He said.
13. Resurrection awaits—joy or judgment ahead.
