When you know, you know

look to the distance for comfort, it seems so far away and yet so close.
No matter where you are, there will always be something in front of you,
No matter the day, no matter the season,
there will always be something in front of you.

You were born alone, you will die alone,
but no matter what, you will always have your instincts,
your senses,
your surroundings.

Inhale chaos, exhale smoke, problem after problem, with no solution,
so you live alongside the chaos that resides in your mind,
igniting the flames inside your soul, rediscovering your purpose,
your destiny,
what you were born to do.

The surroundings are poisoned by itself,
the decay and destruction enveloping the natural.
You're immune now, the poison and death run through your veins,
it's in control, you are nothing but a vessel to a higher power,
a slave to time and malice

Kisses that taste like falling

Oh god, just look at him.
look at him, marvel in his purity,
gaze upon perfection, glossy-eyed, curly-haired perfection.
This boy isn't from around here,
he's sweet and kind, soft and cheery: like joy personified
His skin is glass, his eyes bright, his hair lit up by his blessing

This is the face of a seraphim, a beautiful creature of purity,
like a dream but a miracle, he is supernatural,
his back: adorned with feathers and gold
his hair: soft and glittery
he is beautiful, he is pure, he is perfection

He stands, oblivious to the world,
naivety, peaceful,perfection,
he sits, regal and royal yet he is humble,
he sees no one as inferior but himself,
he loves all, forgives all and lights up the world

Oh god, just look at him.
look at him, marvel in his beauty,
gaze upon the prince of heaven, the sweet, sensitive angel,
an etherial being we have been blessed with,
and he's mine. Mine to hold. Mine to kiss. Mine to love, to spoil, to keep.

The sun is nothing, compared to the light in his eyes,
the melodicity of his voice, the true joy in his laugh.
People tell me that Demons belong in hell, not with Angels:
I'll gladly go to hell, knowing that i have held heaven,
in my own hands...

For the love of a lieutenant

Tell me that story again,
The tale of love and self-sabotage,
Of doubt and valour,
Of hearts and corruption,

Where the days are adventure and the nights are a dream,
The danger is adrenaline and the work is never done,
We stand together on the brightest days,
On the coldest nights,
On your side I stood, though times changed

Tell me those words again,
The words of comfort and safety
Of love and security
Of wrong but it feels so right

We shouldn’t be but we are,
It’s not allowed but we still do,
We could be killed for such an uncontrollable thing,
But we aren’t afraid, not anymore

Tell me that story again,
The tale of love and loss,
Of war and duty,
Of valour and comfort

I stand in your office, hours after dark
I sit in your embrace, as the air raid sirens sing
In a blanket of green and greatness
I’m not allowed to have you but whilst no one’s watching, I will give you my heart…

A Million to One

A dozen rows of soldiers, friends, brothers, fathers, sons,
They dressed you up and sent you off, poised, positioned.
Everywhere you look, you gaze upon photocopies under one uniform:
Stripped of individuality

Welcome to the show,
here, we throw metal roses to the audience,
the corrupted sons of Eve, all dancing to percussion.
Backstage: the scent of death, blood and roasted almonds.
Final show, curtain closed

They wait for you, your memory fading, it's too late...

The petals of moonlight and shadows of dawn,
they started this mess, weapons drawn,
A dozen rows of soldiers, friends, brothers, fathers, sons
They slowly decreased:
A million,
two,
one...

Final bow, curtain close,
thank you for coming,
but where is the rose?
They performed well and i know you want more,
but i have to apologise
For there will be no encore...

The prince of perfection

He sits there, basking in the sun,
Light is his home, where he fits perfectly, amongst the light,
The shine of his curled hair, perfection as he is,
He is joy personified, Heaven on Earth, too good for this.

I have known him since creation,
Loved him for always,
and, until the day Hell raises and Heaven falls,
He is mine to have, to hold, to love, to keep, but not to share.

For whom the bell tolls,
For whom the light seeks,
For whom the Heavens call,
For whom the dark retreats,

For him and only him, I am loyal,
I kill for him, I live for him,
I am not worthy for him to enter into my affections
But only say the words and my soul shall be open,
My heart, My soul, My life, My love
All for him

To the light in my life, my sun and stars, my angel,
Thank you for saving me, for lighting up my life,
for showing me a light that I can't live without.
Thank you for loving me and never leaving me,
Thank you for being mine.

I love you, my prince of perfection, of purity, of heaven...

The light himself

If you asked me if i was devoted?
If I was loyal?
If I was a servant of his orders?
I would agree without hesitation.

In the fiery depths that i dwell in,
the torturous circus of corpses,
the deep dark underground that I was banished to,
He is the light, he is my light, my love, my angel.

If you asked me if I loved him?
If I worshipped him?
If I treasured him, like he was the last remaining scrap of my soul?
I would agree, without hesitation.

He is my will to live, my purpose, my grace and, equally, my insanity.
I fell for him, in sword and flame, I fell.
Cast out and forsaken from a palace I'd once called home,
I fell for him, in sword and flame, in sweet agony, I burned.

If you asked me if I would trade the world for him?
If I would sacrifice myself for him?
If I would burn, strike the match myself, If i knew it would save him?
I would agree without hesitation.

Angels are made and taught to worship their gods,
to be devotees to a deity,
to be servants to a savior,
I fell, my wings are burned, halo cracked and dim,
but teachings are hard to forget when they're engraved,
So I'm fated to eternally worship him...

Curtain Close

I look on, reciting lines, reacting, responding,
the lights are dim, the stage is cold.
I dance across the scene, choreographed to my solitude,
hurt, tired, done, but I never stop.
Tears roll, screams echo, but I never stop.
I almost collapse, I can't go on, but I never stop.
I'm dead, my body rotting, but I never stop.

I look to my audience, my muse, my purpose,
I can't deny them, I have to please them,
Regardless of consequence, the show must go on.
I have been reduced to a corpse that has been revived,
revived for entertainment, for their amusement and amazement,
I can't refuse, I can't disobey, I am a slave to the arts.

I can still hear her, although I left her behind,
I can hear her, sobbing, pleading, begging me to stay.
Begging me to stay with her, to leave the cult in which I am trapped
I can still hear her, haunting me,
"The theatre is dark, the seats empty, the stage silent- so why are you still acting...?"

A message to the fallen

Stop.
Turn around.
You forgot something.

Take a step back.
away from the edge.
Come back to me.

We can stay like this.
On the floor of the roof.
You just stay in my arms.

Stop apologising.
It's not your fault.
It's okay, you're still here.

That's what i would've said.
I would've held you in my arms.
If you'd only listened when i said:

Take a step back.
Away from the edge.
Come back to me.

Stop.
Turn around.
You forgot something.

I can't let you do this.
I still need you.
But you weren't listening...
