Weight of the World

The weight of the world sits heavy on my chest,
A silent force that never lets me rest.
Expectations rise like tides unseen,
Drowning dreams in waves between.

The clock hands race, they never wait,
Each second whispers of past mistakes.
Society’s voice, a thunderous call,
Climbing ladders just to fall.

They say be strong, don’t let it show,
Hold your ground, don’t let fear grow.
But even stone will crack in time,
Under burdens never mine.

Yet in the night, when all is still,
A fleeting hope, a quiet will.
The stars remind in silver light,
Even pressure births the bright.
