LOVE EXPRESSED THROUGH WORDS FROM BOTH OLD AND NEW ENGLISH DICTION

Thou hast engaged my hand,
With your fairy’s magic wand,
The ring which you placed on my finger,
Along with which I do all around your house- doth Linger.

Thee fairy more graceful even compared to Venus,
Thou pierced my heart with thy kindness,
I will forever with you be,
As I respect thy love and thee.

Thou hast the eyes of a fish,
Let me express you my life’s wish-
-That I want to live with thou forever,
And then say to separation- Never!

Thou art grace personified,
And thy words are music of love signified,
Thou art the Queen of My Heart,
And excelling love’s every Art.

ALL ALONE IN THE DARK

There you are -Filled with the brightness of your beautiful face,
And men who run behind your beauty like a rat-race,
And here I am - Alone in the dark,
Singing for you like a lone skylark.

My world is dark without you,
I am in love with you like others-too,
But I also value your attitude,
For which I have always shown you my gratitude.

Now you are away from me,
I too am separated from you,
But I wish I could see you once again - Free,
Yes-Free for loving me once again.

You are the Moon and Venus combined,
But I am not Poseidon or Cupid,
When your words will one day find-
-Me alone in this dungeon of darkness you will find me lying down like a stupid.

MY BED TIME

The sky is falling for me,
And the earth parts in me,
All I can see is you,
And myself in my sweet dream.

I cannot listen to a sound of a fallen needle,
Or the sound of a flickering candle,
All that matters to me is- I am on my bed,
Tired, anxious and wishing for a bed of roses red.

The bark of a dog,
Window glass white with fog,
I can see only my dream,
In my closed eyes-flowing like a stream.

THE FAIRY-AN EPITOME OF BOTH GOOD AND EVIL

You cursed a girl to die at the age of sixteen,
Yet you also gave Life to a girl suffering in her teens,
You cursed a girl to die at her own home,
Yet you blessed the other who could now stay permanently-
-In the Prince's home.

You are both Good and Evil,
And become both Mother and a Devil,
On one hand you save a girl suffering from her step-mother,
While you also make a girl suffer for no fault of hers or her mother.

I have both my opinions on you,
And see you with both Hope and Despair,
You must do more Good on others too,
Even with your cold and evil stare.

OZYMANDIAS- THE PHARAOH MADE IMMORTAL BY SHELLEY

Here is someone who is worthy of all the grace,
Let me describe his glory before his name gets erased,
The Pharaoh Ozymandias of Egypt,
Who was even worthy of Shelley's praise.

He has done a lot I feel,
Even though I cannot see his real reel,
I am sure he was praised well,
Even by the worthy poet for that- I can tell.

He might not be alive now,
Nor even the graceful poet - You know how,
But then he is made immortal,
By the poet who made others in front of him appear Mortal!

ALL THE SAKE OF HIS HAPPINESS

She served him tea and fed him his favorite snack,
And also kept a bouquet of roses in his closet's rack,
Yet he walked away without looking at them even once,
And she felt betrayed by one of her loved ones.

Yet, one day, when he was attacked my a robber,
She ran-up to save him while his girl walked away,
As she wanted her life more than him to be longer,
And left him and ran away.

She had a few coins in her purse,
Which was the only means for her to travel back home,
Yet she ran-up to him and gave all her money to the robber to save him -
- Yes, save him from the doom,
And when the robber went - she gave him first-aid like a nurse.

She could not go home now as all her money was gone,
Yet she saved his life which was for her game-on,
Tears filled his eyes as she sat in a corner,
Begging money from others to go home,
and he did give her some of his money out of pity,
Seeing her for it-everywhere roam.

A WORD WITH POSITIVE ENERGY AND WHAT IT HAS TO SAY TO US

Breathe me in the air,
You will then know what is fair,
As life is just not same,
To one and all-But all your griefs I can tame.

I come to give you joy,
Which you can then enjoy,
I come without any fee,
As you can get me for free.

All you need is your mind,
To think about me and be kind,
Then I will win your heart,
And will stick to it like a stuck-chart.

THE POWER OF TRUE LOVE

When you have none to clean your spectacles,
You wait for the miracle,
That is when I come to you,
And clean it and give it back to you.

When you cannot but polish your shoes,
And your frail hands tremble,
Then I come as the captain of your cruise,
As you begin to grumble.

Love is filled with gratitude,
It does not accompany pride or attitude,
It comes into use when you are in trouble,
And in front of it- even the mountains tremble.

WELCOMING APRIL WHICH IS THE MONTH OF POETRY

Oh sweet month of April,
You bring the air of spring,
In the minds of young poets,
Who flies with your Golden Wings?

You give pen the power over knife,
And teach us how to move on in life,
You let the flowers of our hearts bloom,
And to express ourselves- give us a room.

I cannot wait for you to come,
The joy you give us - I do not know from where it comes from,
But then - Oh pleasant month of Poetry,
Kindly come soon and give us the arrows-
-To pierce the readers' hearts in this field of archery....

- THIS IS A POEM WELCOMING THE MONTH OF APRIL AS IT IS THE MONTH OF POETRY, A SOURCE OF JOY TO ALL THE POETS...

A PRAYER TO THE DIVINE

Oh divine creator, this is my prayer to you-

Let the birds fly freely in the sky,
And nobody to stop them and to ask them why,
Let the eggs in their nests get their warmth,
And none or nothing to eat or destroy them when they are away, henceforth.

Let the plants bloom and bring spring,
And colorful butterflies fly flapping their wings,
Let the flowers give fragrance and fruits,
And let the soil provide more water to the plant's roots.

Let the orphan humans and animals get a home,
And then find a destination after which they need not roam,
Let their cold tears turn into tears of joy,
And make them too in this world-enjoy.
