Shamsi Mbogo Poem
Endless Affections
I know nothing but
A love in her smiles.
Years passed without a date;
Love was disappearing in miles.
The distance of time and place,
Mountains and valleys,
The love failed to race.
In the silence of many days,
The wind blew the message:
“For not giving up,
There is always a wage,
That’s to enjoy our hope.”
A bird in the sky
Made a nest
For us to stay
And our love to rest.

Shamsi Mbogo Poem
Sensible Flower
Butterfly on the flower,
A red rose follower,
A dripping dawn’s dew,
Sorting a day anew.
A buzzing sound of a bee,
Like waves in the sea.
Flower in the field,
Where honey is made.
In wild fields,
Where nature nurtures its seeds.
The yellow color from sunrise,
The morning is like paradise.
Red roses rise in green grasses,
The land is not barren but filled with grace.
Flowers are everywhere!
Flowers here, flowers there.
Rain falls down fairly often,
Birds as pollinators bind the pollen.
The sky smiles with excitement,
As clean oxygen migrates in contentment.
The roots are getting older,
Flowers are still fodder.

Shamsi Mbogo Poem
Wordless Words
Countless times of talking,
On the prepared table of meeting,
Killing is a sin and a silly action,
A sin that brings sorrow and suffocation.
Holy books wisely say:
We are equal in all ways.
Now look at how the world dismantles,
A peace broken down into fumbles.
Fire from far away, made by guns,
Burning and sweeping away the innocents.
What for? Possession and wealth?
Not fair; speeches are not worth.
They sound good and rhythmical,
But bring no change in a circle.
If everything is done to stop,
Why are missiles still in prep?
