Guarded Heart

Guarded Heart

I now guard my heart..
With walls of stone..
Built slowly..one at a time.

I watched my life crumble..
Before my very eyes..
I gave you my love..
You tossed it aside.

You crushed our love..
As if it ..were never to exist.
Why did you do this?
Fate's terrible twist.

The place in my heart you once held..
I try so hard to find..
Feels so dark and cold..
Once so safe and warm..
I wonder..
What will be left behind?

God's plan for us..
So hard to see..
For yesterday is gone..
Tomorrow ..yet to be.

Please.. walk with me Jesus..
Shine your light brightly..
For without it..I cannot see.
Surround me with your love..
For without it ..I cease to be.

Inside my heart..
Your love held one precious part..
My Jesus holds the other..
The peaceful difference is..
God's love will never part..
His love..
Forever guards my heart.

" When I Get To Heaven"

"When I Get To Heaven"
I did not know this man...I called my Grandpa.
We were strangers in this life.
He was often in my heart...
In the thoughts that wondered in my mind.

I did not know this man...I called my Grandpa.
My memories of him are few.
They are branded in my mind...
Like childhood memories...often do.

I did not know this man... I called my Grandpa.
His face is picture perfect..
His voice crystal clear.

I did not know this man...I called my Grandpa.
Our time was not for here...
God tells us we will meet in Heaven...
As it is meant to be...
There..
I will know my Grandpa...and...my Grandpa will know
me.

God's Precious Gift

God's Precious Gift

We all walk through this life with the uncertainy of its' path..
Not knowing which breath is the last..
Our God will allow us to take.
In this life we all share..
So fragile..yet sometimes so frightingly cruel.
We laugh and we cry...our hearts sing and they break..
An awesome beauty in each moment ...all the same.
As this life travels onward..
We must hold on.
Sometimes it feels as if we can't..
Just haven't the strength..
It is then...we must reach out our hand..
Our God will softly touch us..
Sometime sending the most tenderist a gift.
For me...He gave the gift..
A priceless friend..so gentle and true..
In which to share this life.
When I felt the touch..
This ...which I will never forget.
It was then I felt God's gentleness and mercy..
Through the tenderness..
He sent inside your heart.
Though the days are sometimes so very long..
I think rest will never come..
I know it is Him I can trust..
Always..
Forever and a day.
Deep inside my heart ...I know this to be true..
For when all seemed so dark...no hope I could see..
I held out my hand..
He blessed me with you.

"me"

"ME"
Up and down...round and round.
Deep within my mind.
I search for the words....
I ...just cannot find.

My memories mix..
Like posters... on a billboard sign.
The colors soon fade...all to black and white.
By the evil hands of time.

How again?...
Must I find...
Love..?
To seal my
heart....
Only mine.
Fit just like a glove.

No time I have to waste.
For the evil hands of time...
Move at...a very awesome pace.

I look inside the mirror...
It's looking straight back at me.
What is missing?
How I begin to easily see...
What I thought was my life...
Me!

Captured Time

Captured Time

If I should ask myself..
Could I travel backward in time?
Can 18 wheelers ..
Ever stop on a dime?

To that one place..
That changed my life forever..
That tiny space in time..
My memory can always find.

To that one place..
Where I can clearly see their face..
Hear the softness in their voice..
Feel the warmth of their smile.

No..not ever..
Will I travel backward in time..
18 wheelers.. won't ever stop on a dime.
Yet ..the answers I sometimes seek..
I will never find..
For they are forever captured..
In..that one place in time.

God's Grace

God's Grace

As the daytime slowly brings to an end..
Sun sets..
Night time slowly settles in.
No solace like the deepness of the night..
The peacefulness that takes over..
Throughout all God's universe.

Our weakest moments revealed..
Our hidden tears are cried..
God sees inside our very soul.

He looks among His precious angels..
Finds the perfect one..
Sends them down to touch our heart..
Console our deepest fears.

Only one tiny reminder of..
God's infinite abiding ability and grace.

Through the Eyes of Your Heart

Through The Eyes of Your Heart

Have you ever just stopped?
Be amazed by the wonders of this life God has blessed us so abundantly.
To look inside a child's face..the innocence it holds.
No fear yet revealed.
Feel the compassion for the frail person you pass on the street..
Maybe..notice sitting alone on a bench..
Those from in which this life has gave.. and yet took.
Behind their tender smiles they so graciously give..
You can almost see a lifetime unfold..
The tears and laughter..the joy and the pain.
Wrapped in a single smile.
It's all in the beauty we allow our hearts to see.
The mysteries of this life..so breathtaking..
Some.. yet so simple ..
The wind twirling a leaf up into the sky on a crisp Fall day..
The beauty of a snowflake as it falls so gracefully to the ground..
The color filled sunset at the end of a long summer day..
The first glazed frost of Winter..
The beautiful smells of the first blooms of Spring..
The most awesome site as the morning sun rises up ..just over the Eastern sky.
Just stop.
Take it all in..
Look,listen, and feel..
With the eyes your heart has so graciously been given.
