AGONY OF A GROWING CHILD

Grow up, they say,
You will come to understand the world,
Yourself,
Things will become better.

Oh how I waited,
To the time I will have ‘grown up’

I am,

They said I would have more peace,
Said I would understand myself,
Have peace in each and every doing,

Oh mama, they lied,
Every decision I make bites me,
Torments me,

Mama I am scared of the dark,
Yet darkness looms around me each and every single day,

Mama don’t tell people I like smiling,
The beautiful smile has faded,
Replaced with a face full of uncertainty,
Mirror, is my face wrinkled.

The city is unkind mama,
No one to tie my shoelaces,
They let me trip mama,

Slapped with the hard face of reality,
Prayers forgotten…maybe once a month,
Doubt creeps in everything,

This isn't me mama,
What happened to me,
You said I would undertsand myself better when I grow up,
You said I would have peace,
Lemme tell you mama,
My body has been in constant fight with itself since I left home,

Confidence replaced with doubt,
Smile replaced with fear,
OH WORLD HAVE MERCY.

UNCERTAIN FUTURE

Say you are enough…
Say you will win this…
Say it is possible…

We all rehearsed that when young,
We were told to be optimistic always,
But…
No one explains the feeling of self doubt,
The fears that come with the thought of not making it,
The realization that it will be a bumpy ride.

When I was young,
My dream occupation was to become rich,
‘mama I will buy that big car, I will get you a big house’
Mama I have neither now,
For you or for me,
Thinking about it pierces my soul,
Will I make it?

But time,
Time is a constant reminder that things change,
Mr time, can you work a miracle,
Bring back the ambitious and optimistic me,
They say time heals all wounds,
Let me bid mine

DIARY OF A WIMPY KID

I prayed for my relationship with Finbar,
And though he gave me everything I wanted,
he also delivered the most hurt I have ever received,
your brain in constant turmoil on whether to let go or persevere,
because hey, it's a relationship, there are many downs
Embrace you it will make you stronger, they said,
like a fool I believed, until I was in constant worry ,
about a man who was self centered,
reminding me of my dear father,
Oh father, where has the wind taken you,
I decided to let go,
though it felt like a bad decision at the moment, I did it
I can't comprehend whether it was the right person wrong timing,
or wrong person wrong timing, but I don't wanna think about it,
It made my heart heavy,
Broken by the same man who promised to shield it
Will I ever love again,
Idk,
But time will tell.

When I thought about Barrack,
I got those fanny flatters
Hey, he likes me,
A reason to look forward for every day,
Aaaah, he's just my type, I would scream,
Hence when I talked to him
'hey I like you'
I didn't feel bad at all,
Because hey,
It's not a crime to like someone
Three months down the line
No notification from him,
Do u feel bad ,no
Instead I thank myself for allowing myself to feel,
Reminding myself that it is ok to love.

Idk what to do,
Idk what to feel,
Idk how to love,
But hey, time heals all wounds.

YOU ARE PERFECT

Ever sat there, looking at a pretty lady,
Your brain is amazed,
How can they be that perfect,
But then…turns out,
They aren’t perfect
Insecurities overshadow their beauty,
They have a bad trait,
Or they struggle to make converstsions,
…they are rude,
Or they are just normal people
…
Your brain wanders again,
How can they be normal when their skin texture is that perfect,
How can they be normal when every boy turns to look at them when they pass,
But still they are normal
…
Then my brain wonders again,
Maybe they do not think I am normal,
Maybe they think I am better than them
Even with my tall statue,
Even with my long feet,
Even with my near-deep voice,
Even with my belly pouch,
To them I am perfect,
Like how perfect I see them.
…
My brain relaxes,
Because now I see myself in a lense with no low self esteem,
I see others in a lens with no prejudice,
Maybe that is how we are supposed to live,
YOU, ME AND ALL OF US.

LOST BETWEEN SIPS

Getting drunk…
One of the best feelings
…but…I never like the feeling when it touches my lips…
When it finds it’s way down my body…
I embarce it,
Its like I am entering a whole new regime
Like I am free to be wild,
To care about what people think,
Because in the end…
I am just gonna put the blame on alcohol..

But,
I don’t like getting drunk
‘’becca come lets drink, it is Friday, let loose,
My friends will say,
Well, I don’t like getting loose,
I fear getting loose,
I fear loosing a part of myself when getting loose,
that’s what mom used to say
…however, I don’t know if that is really a part of myself,
I don’t know what forms a part of me
Because I am lost.

Will i, Will we

I like you alot it hurts,
My love for you pierces my heart every day, leaving a deeper wound with every stab,
I like you so much that I can't tell you,
But I want to tell you,
I want to tell you,
How you invade every minute of my existence,
How i would love to spend my eternity with you,
How i would love for you to hold me every night,
How i think i love you,
With every sniff, I smell you,
With every smile, I remember your joke,
With every hurt, I remember the hurt you caused,
With every smile, I remember the days you made me happy,
The days you were selfless and a sucker for me,
Oh God, how i would Like for it to be the same, to be just us, in our tiny bubble,
I like you so much, I can't stop,
I don't want to stop, because I know some day, my love for you will fade,
Someday,
I won't have you lingering at the back of my mind every minute,
One day, I will like another,
And it won't hurt like ours did.

Yours truly.
