Another time, another place…
Beyond the life, in different space,
Where the Sun goes down on the faraway East,
And the Moon rises high above Western feast,
I saw you in a mask made of silver and silk:
Hair is auburn like leaves, skin in driblets of milk,
Soulless eyes, gleaming green – like a moth to the flame
I'm the one who flies straight to burn gladly in vain.
Yes, your visage was spinning the ballroom that night.
I've surrendered to you – with no doubt, with no fight…
In return, at my silly devotions of love,
You just smiled and fled by – swift and light, like a dove.
Morning light woke me up. I suppressed hopeless scream,
Cause' you've fled once again and escaped in a dream.

Step by step - you follow me.
Step by step - I count to three.
Step by step - let's make a bet:
I'll give you a prise you won't forget.
One - I run down corridor.
Two - then, hide behind a door.
Three - I have no place to flee.
What is now supposed to be?
The count is out - of course, no doubt,
I have no one to blame but me.
No one will hear my helpless shout,
No soul will see my graceless plea.
Step by step - you hold a knife.
Step by step - no place to hide.
Step by step - you caught me, then
I won't play with you again.

My friend, how deep can be your sorrows?
Through smoke filled maze of modern days
When time flies by in bleary haze
And we don't know about tomorrow?
Your eyes, once bright and full of life,
Nowdays, instead, to my dismay,
Are filled, like rainy days of May,
With hate, and pain, and fright.
No, you can't plea, no, you can't flee,
'Cause life is known for no compassion.
Your lust for it and inner passion
Have been dried up, like bloodless fleas.
Yet we don't know of what's to be.
You shed your nightly tears in bed,
But love, I beg you, please, don't fret,
And share them here, with me.

All around my house,
All around my heart,
Flowers grow again
As we grow apart.
Don’t know how to start
Letters with no end
That I wrote from heart
Back to you, my friend.
Words seem posh and dull,
But I try once more -
Under cries of gulls
Weeds are overgrown.
In my country-yard,
Where the roses bloomed,
God knows it’s so hard
But I know we’re doomed.
