Rejection

"Painful"
"Unworthy"
You question why you exist

Loathing
Self-Pity
Its lies you cannot untwist

Empathy
And reason
They bid farewell

As love
And self-esteem
Also parallel

Negativity fills faster than adipose cells

Mademoiselle

Are you truly well?

No

It takes courage to say
To seek closure
To make way
For much needed composure

Then realisation sweeps in
That our rejection is from deep within

If we never love, if we never care
We cease to be human
We fail to be fair
To our infinite inner beauty
To our imperfect self found nowhere

Take care and repair
For rejection is not the end of thy flair

Friendship

Party all night
Or talk all day
Is that all to friendship
The friendships of today

Or is it a warm embrace
On a cold winter day
Even when the voice rings far
From continents away

Dear friend, thanks a lot
For conversations that never end
For they extend across the expanse of time
And travel through the fabric of space

Dear friend, thanks a lot
For being a hero
With empathy you care
With courage you bear
My pains of today
For me to employ flair
For me to prepare
For the triumphs of tomorrow

And then I share
In heart and soul
True friendship
That dares to be raw
That dares to be real
Even when it came out of the blue
And doesn't cease to exist
Cause even a simple hello
Or a small thank you
Will make do
