Orange

Orange is the color of the dead leaves falling to the ground
Orange is the bright bonfire crackling in the night
Orange is the smell of a freshly baked pumpkin pie
Orange is the feeling of the fall breeze blowing through the air
Orange is the taste of a perfectly cooked turkey for thanksgiving dinner
Orange is the sound of the children laughing through the pumpkin patch
Orange is the crunch of fallen leaves under your feet
Orange is the feeling of a new sweater
Orange is a young fox chasing a squirrel through the backyard
Orange is autumn

The Farmhouse

The farmhouse sits at the end of the gravel driveway
The red curtains wave in the open window,
Moving perfectly with the late spring breeze
The trees surround the home like a backsplash
A forest of light and dark greens
A small rabbit hops by the front door,
Curious of what is going on inside
The large white wrap around porch,
Covered in brown whickered furniture
The sky is a light blue hue
There is not a single cloud in the sky
A cow in the pasture moo's in the distance
The day is peaceful

My Crazy Dog

My dog is so crazy
He loves to run
He makes me feel lazy
And that I am no fun

He prances through the trees
I can’t keep up
He’s going to get fleas
But he’s just a happy pup

I love him so much
He keeps me on my toes
I’ve never met a dog as such
But I guess he’s just one of those

Better In Time

There were so many things to see

Fun tunnels to crawl through

Large rocks to climb

So many adventures here and there

It was so amazing to my young eyes

Now that I am back

Things are not the same

It is a lot smaller than I remembered

I don't fit through the tunnels anymore

The rocks to climb are not much taller than me

I wish I could go back and see it

One last time
