Gideon Heching Poem
Full of emptiness
I sit in the pews
Awaiting a savior
Who's waiting to lose
Is it Jesus or Mary
In the haze I can't tell
Stuck in this place
Where an angel just fell
Who has my soul
Who has my heart
These blood covered hands
Tore both apart
Is god in this house
Or is it just me
Praying to a lord
Who won't set me free

Gideon Heching Poem
Yes
It's rungs
May be covered in rust
But commit to the climb
To learn how to trust
Yes
You'll fall
Again and again
Caught by the arms
Of a very old friend
Yes
You'll be put
Back at the start
A journey to the place
Where you're never apart
Yes
Your hands
Will be battered and bruised
Take solace in a fate
You surely didn't choose
Yes
This climb
Has no real end
But neither does the truth
For which we ascend

Gideon Heching Poem
How can a world
So cold and so dark
Be so warm and so light
When we're not apart
How can a world
Full of pain and decay
Be so free and clear
When I choose to stay
How can a world
Surrounded by death
Be so full of life
When we share one breath
How can a world
That's now at its end
Be only beginning
When you're on the mend
Inside your world
I long to be
Together as one
Where no one can see
For only your world
I'd die to protect
My mind sacrificed
To keep your respect
And searching your world
I will find my soul
Inside of your hands
That I must let go

Gideon Heching Poem
It can be your greatest friend
A wonderful gift
There till the end
Repairing the rift
But sometimes it carries
A devastating weight
Fulfilling its role
As the arbiter of fate
Spent the right way
It's the key to your growth
Wasted each day
Die quicker than most
It waits for no man
Woman or child
Will never be tamed
Forever running wild
Stand at its door
To be another slave
But take a step through
And a soul will be saved
It may never change
But changes all things
The master of the masses
Over gods and kings
