Shelby Bower Poem
Holding onto that day
You lifted my chin
Lost in your eyes
Kissing you was a win
Every "I love you" and giggle
Lifting me higher than Olympus
We were like God's and Heroes
Together so colorful and tough
Night falls my head on your chest
With a soft sigh "sweet dreams"
Responding giggle "you too"
The moon light beams
Eyes wide shut in the dawn
Your alarms sounds for work
Snoozing 3 times soaking in every minute
Playing dead I listen like a dork
Before leaving you softly kiss me
"See you after work" you say
Sitting in bed my love glowing
You've just made my day

Shelby Bower Poem
Eyes glassy blue
Skin tired blush
Quivering breath
Her mind in a rush
Talking with eyes
Speechless in giggles
Awkward silences
She wait for signals
Sarcasm is common
So much left unsaid
He knows her feelings
Laying next to him in bed
Protecting the other like a sibling
Loving like best friends
They say it's for the best
Neither know if forever ends

Shelby Bower Poem
The air use to be sour
And taste bitter
No way I was the same
It was time to get better
Water use to be muddy
And still be clear
Late August showed me
There is a worse fear
Fear use to be cold
turned my heart black
There is beauty in the dark
It can put life on track
Dirt use to be poor
Still a home is built
Wish you told me
So I didn't have guilt
Two souls use to be lost
Still searching for their light
Soul to soul they dance
Holding each other tight

Shelby Bower Poem
I've been to dark places
I've lost myself and all the basics
I've crawled on my hands and knees
Fighting to stand up again
Gritting my teeth
Tears down my face
I will never be the same
No one will be in my way
I've backed down from battle
I've fought for love and lost it all
I've hiked the muddiest mountains
Proving the strength my body has
Restless heart rate
Mind set strong
I will never be the same
No one will be in my way
I've had my heart torn out and given away
I've hurt myself thinking No one would care
I've reserved my head, heart, and body
Believing other the only way to heal
Silent noise in my head
Cardiac thunder through my chest
I WILL NEVER BE THE SAME
AND NO ONE WILL STAND IN MY WAY
I am enough!

Shelby Bower Poem
2 men i called Grandpa acting like a Dad when a man walked away
Never batting an eye they'd be there for us everyday
One was out spoken and never left something unsaid
Other kept to himself so you find a way for your heart to mend
They always taught something new to me
Since I was just under Three
Just a girl that wanted her dad
Grandpas never let her stay mad
Sneaking extra Banana Popsicles when Grandma was napping
Getting into the sweet stash quietly so they didnt hear the wrapping
Grandpas had the joke and skits they played on us
Those new lighters and staples were always a lil sus
Whether it was one sneaking food off your plate
Or the making you open the pasture gate
Being told to not waste time or tears on a man who does show up
What he meant was brace yourself and keep your feet in the stirrup
People always had the chance to let me down
Grandpa showed me how to move on without a sound
Things they did shaped us into the parents we are
They've got the best seats since they became a star
