Unrest World

Unrest World

Fires cracking
Bombs bombing
People fighting
People debating

Deforestation
All the isms
Weak mindsets
Y'all are decrazed.

Unrest, unrest
Unrest World

Where is the peace
Where is the love

Unrest, unrest
Unrest World

Why can't you ease
Slow down your grudge.

Folks are dying
Folks are crying
Where is the peace
Where is the love?

Many lost their jobs
Things got rough
Things got tough
Enough is enough.

Why can't we eat
Why can't we sleep
Should I give up my arms
Should I give up my legs

So many fears
So many tears
We just live in the doomsday world.

Refrain.

Please, Lord
Forgive us all

We're living in the gloomy world

Please, Lord
Forget us not

We're living in a chaotic world.

Refrain.

Don't Hide Your Pain

Behind every superhero, there's pain
Behind every superhero ,there's sadness
Behind every superhero, there's scars
Whether physical, mental, spiritual, or emotional.

Behind every superhero, there's vulnerability.
Behind every superhero, there's trials, tribulations, blood, tears, sweats, and brokenness.

Even Jesus, despite he's perfect, went through betrayals, pain, sufferings, was misunderstood, fell down three times and died for someone’s sins.

And that someone's sins is yours and mine.

Even Mary, Jesus’ mother, suffers as well.

Same goes to the famous people in the Bible.
Even the saints.

It's ok to not feel ok.
It's ok to feel vulnerable
It's ok to feel the brokenness.
It's ok to rest, to reflect, and to be angry.

We're not Batman
We're not Superman
We're not Wonder Woman
And dang sure, we're not Flash.

Some of us or most are tortoises from Tortoise and the Hare.

I would say, take a good look at the superheroes.
You would know they are going through it.

Everyone regardless of who is going through it.

We as humans have emotions and limits
We as humans are not perfect. Though I mentioned Mary and Jesus, we're not Mary and we're not Jesus. We were born with original sins.

Superheroes have the right to feel their emotions, trials and tribulations. It's ok.

There's time for everything.

There's grace for it all.

And like Jesus and Mary, and the Tortoise,

There's liberty ?? at the end of the tunnel.

Let's run this heavenly race.

Black Power

Black Power

My power to read
My power to write
My power to lead
My power to fight.
My power to vote
My power to take notes
My power to see
To be who I be.
For, I am free
For, I am love
For, I am glee
For, I am above
For, I'm black and proud
(they don't want to hear it)
For, I'm black and proud)
( Am I not a human?)
For, I'm black and proud
(Put your fist up)
For, I'm black and proud
(Cause that's my Black Power)

Put my fist up
I'm Angela Davis
Wear my Afro
I'm Angela Davis
Put my people first
I'm Angela Davis
I ain't scare of you
Cause I'm Angela Davis.

For, I am free
For, I am love
For, I am glee
For, I am above

For, I'm black and proud
(they don't want to hear it)
For, I'm black and proud)
( Am I not a human?)
For, I'm black and proud
(Put your fist up)
For, I'm black and proud
(Cause that's my Black Power)

Malcom X ( Salute to my brotha)
MLK (Salute to my brotha)
Rosa Parks (Salute to my sista)
Emmett Till and the rest ( Salute to my people)

I say Malcom X (Salute to my brotha)
I say MLK (Salute to my brotha)
I say Rosa Parks (Salute to my sista)
Emmett Till and the rest (Salute to my people)

For, they were free
For, they were love
For, they were glee
For, they were above

My dear brothas and sistas
If life throws a stone, throw it right back
If life throws a stone, throw it right back
If life throws a stone, throw it right back
If life throws a stone, fist it right back.

Now say...

For, I'm black and proud
(they don't want to hear it)
For, I'm black and proud)
( Am I not a human?)
For, I'm black and proud
(Put your fist up)
For, I'm black and proud
(Cause that's our Black Power)

Put our fist up
We're Angela Davis
Wear our afro up
We're Angela Davis
Put our people first
We're Angela Davis

We ain't scare of them
We're Angela Davis

Fist up to the sky.

Woke is a New Slur

Woke is New Slur

“I guess, woke is nothing but a new slur against people like me, right? Let me tell you, friend. Like Ariel, I want black people to be where they will be accepted. I want us to be part of the world. A world that accepts our blackness. A world where we could walk free without police brutality getting our way. A world where we could wear our natural hair, loud and proud. Locs, braids, afros, adding beads and colors? You name it. I want to be where happiness, love, peace, and hope reigns in our black lives. We’re not political objects. We’re just humans. Humans with a black skin that will never come off. We just want to be happy. Have a good family, celebrate our culture, and have more equal opportunities. Is that too much to ask? I’m asking you, friend. Is that too much to ask? Like Ariel, she’s willing to give up her voice to go to that world where she dreams of. Ask the civil rights leaders, who gave up their bodies to the society of anti-blackness, to get beaten, arrested, and risk their houses on fire, just to get their community to be part of the world they dreamed of. Let me tell you, friend. Am I too woke for you? Am I too pitiful for you? If that’s the case, then call me Ursula. Yeah, call me Ursula. Because I’m calling you a poor unfortunate soul. So unfortunate that you can’t even see your ignorance. So, unfortunate that you’re too blind with your bigotry. You have a choice, my dear. Go ahead and make a choice. A choice to hate? Or a choice to love? You know what I want? I want to kiss the land. A land of freedom. A land of peace and the land of hope. You can come with me to get there but here’s a new deal. You get rid of the negative energy of the word, woke. Woke is for positive energy, agree? Woke is not a slur. Woke is awareness of my blackness. Woke is for the black voicelesses, sick of being beaten and now ready to stand for…What’s that word, again? Oh, liberty and justice. Once you get rid of that stinky aura, then, you can come with me. I don’t know when and I don’t know how. But, I know that someday. Just watch and see. That someday, my people and I will be part of that world. Now, are you with me? Let’s ease on down the road.”

Turn Off The Noise and Shhhh SHhhhh Shhhh

Have you ever thought to sit down and just think?

Have you ever thought to just lay down and let the wind blow to you, kiss you, hug you and be with you?

Have you ever heard the thought to just let the sun shine unto you with his brightest light?

Have you ever thought to just look at the trees? See how beautiful the trees are? The ones with leaves and the ones with no leaves?

Have you ever thought to sit still and let your body speak to you? To let you heal and let the process process?

Turn down the noise of your television
Turn down the noise of the social media

Get off your phone. Get off from your certain environment. Get off from your noisy friends and family.

Get off. Get more off.

Turn down the noise of the news.
Turn down the noise of the echo chambers.

Turn it off. Turn it off.

Turn off your anger
Turn off your madness.

But instead, feel emotions first and calm down.

Just let the silence speak to you.
Just let nature speak to you.

They're waiting for you to counsel you.

Just…shhh….shhh…shhh

Turn off the noise.

And let peace and love reign.

Rainbow at The End

It's raining but no rainbow at the end.
It's pouring but no sunshine is shining.
It's cloudy but no clear sign.
It's floodin' but no hand to grab you out of the water.

That's what you thought. Well, sir and madam, you thought wrong. Because it's all temporary. Here's what I think.

It may be raining but there's a rainbow at the end.
It may be pouring but there's always a sunshine that would shine

It may be cloudy and it may be foggy but, there's going to be a clear sign.

Yes, it's floodin' but there's always someone who will grab you out of the water.

Painful situations may be there but it's only temporary.

Victory will come soon.

Just don't give up.
