Lilacs in Harmony

my body grows lilacs
they swell in my ears
almost like beeswax
dispelling sounds,
cries of help

the sweet purple runs through me
reminders of cajole come to distract
the misty perfume
brings weary sighs
i must sleep

while awake, my head is etching for freedom
slumber brings opportunity
the real world lies there
like a guitar singing
fragmented moments are pieced together

the void

what should i do without you
the sound of silence kills me
those precious moments gather dust
life stands still in darkness
apple pie comes unmade, roses wilt, bourbon becomes water

i am waiting for you
leaves fall, my door locks
It draws near
as i drown in memory, my pen fades and the ceiling lowers
i rot, i sink

the descent

My eyes deceive me,
Wondering, worrying
if I am free.

The current pulls me out
it's disorienting.
yet, you don’t see me pout.

Forty won’t come
But you promised.
so fragmented, so gruesome.

My eyes deceive me.
It's disorienting.
so fragmented, so gruesome.
