Why-Dominique Smith

Why is a word that can cause an argument. Why do I get stuck in the my head? Why do I have labels on my skin? Why are you being so dramatic? Why do talk that? Why aren't you happy? Why are you happy? Why do ask so many questions? Why can't you be like the others? Why cant you sit still? Why don't you just shut up and get over it?

Why would you say that? Why is he doing this that to me? Why won't he stop? Why am I wearing clothes associated with my age yet he sees me as an adult? Why is this a tradition? Why is it common? Why won't she be nice to me? Why won't she just love me as a sister and not as a punching bag a reminder of the past the face she saw crying in the back as the show goes on!?

Why do strangers get the love of a blood when I get the fat that's collected when separated!? Why do I have to yell the same only to be met with confusion expression and laughter? Why do I get the feeling of being selfish when I always had my self and why do I have to be the bigger person with smallest number out of three?

I guess the biggest why is ( why me?).

Push

Push- by Dominique Smith

Push through they say, keep pushing my way, dark cold wet sorrows and woes, spring comes for flowers and pressed for beauty. Hold on not yet, push down and keep it there.

Others aren't watching no one cares. That's not true or fair enough to get yourself near some warmth. So many lives are effected by lies and rejection. I try so hard, smile as the world throws eggs and expensive items in your face body and hair. Push through they say they have to keep you at a distance why patting your back. They have lives and they share but your story is for bed time and the snores you hear.

Keep it pushing, A saying in itself. Meaning I dont have the time to pretend I feel your pain. I don't celebrate your wins but I touch your shoulder to give you the illusion that I didn't know your failure was close. Like the shadow in the corner that followed you since the moment you were pushed into the spring from the cold dark wet obiss

She's bipo-

Im Dominique, im not bipolar, adhd or depression to say the least! I am tall but afraid of heights, I am strong but I am light. I wont break but bend? I might, Ill have ideas trapped in the coils of my mind only to be ignored for not speaking in time. Hands sweat, knees hurt but damn it we gotta work!

The sun hasnt risen but you know I have, to the job on time no matter the reason! Wind so cold cuts your cheeks, still abandoned and reformed. Told to be yourself until you do and they say you're boring. In the this dark space with no map, hoping to duck the problem of this gap. Hearing the sirens and the horns of the streets, darkness so black you see some hope. The absence of light brings fear to those whom grew in the light. To head lights you see only to be met with the bus, you remember youre at the bus stop and that life goes on.

The day ends the same as it began, so dark you take pills to get vitamins you miss from the light. Physical you're alive, is all you hear at every appointment. Nevertheless you dont speak to honest at therapy, We have things we never tell. Even to the ones we hold close, Every step is torture on whats left of the knees. The only thing that makes it worse is the knowledge that quitting is failure but staying is slow endless torture. So every morning you wake and fight depression, I hope you arent confused because fighting depression is job where enjoying life is a vacation, youre therapist is management, your pills are coffee and break time is when you sleep. No pay. No vacation and no clocking out.

Living v living

Living v living
By Dominique Smith

Mirror images are flooded with joy compassion is overlooked and the heart that beated for it echoes across the pond. Neglected and overwhelmed both extremely acidic. You eat your favorite food and you drink your wine. Flashes of off color flowers, hey they call you look up at the reflection of normality.

In your hand a cold stone, smooth to the touch of your finger tips, small but fragrant scent of salty air. Wind sweep's past your ears, hey are you ok? They call but when you speak you smile and say yes, you blink it's three days later and you have more smooth cold stones. You feel you touch you taste the way every being has had and will. The plant is there over watered, Goosebumps comes from your skin. The hair on your arms flex like the leafs on a Autumn tree.

You shutter to thought of a misstep, you count the steps as you move your hand down the railing, Broad hallways are dark and quiet. Your hair on your head falls to your shoulders. the tips of said hair grow pale, Hey you with us? They ask you looking at the ceiling but never directly at you. You answer with a smile with a nodding motion. The table grows longer and the faces blur. You're respected, rejected, inspected, humiliated, praised, and thrown away. No one hears your whispers because you have none. You look at yourself image through the eyes of the confused, You ponder have you been living or living.

Not here

Not here -by Dominique Smith

Not here, tell them im not here. Why because I'm not here, Hold on I think I hit the high score. Are you not going to answer that ?, Who are you talking to? There's no one there. Then how can I see it and stll be scared? How can care? How can I feel the streamer being drained?

How can I hear the words coming from thin air If the oxygen was lost? Have you ever thought that the hair on your skin stand up as if you know somethings is there? I caught a glimpse of the smile once, No cement can hold the rose It grows with such love for freedom that it disobeys the laws of nature. Ive put so much into you! Why can't you answer that damn call! Im not here! Youre here im lookinf at you!! Im! NOT!HERE! The world's greatest love invisible unaware and unknown to its creators. Never seen buy heard, never touched but tormented! Never knows where it comes from but still decides to go home.

Will you please answer! I'm not here. What pleasure do get out of not giving up?! I get peace, quite and rest. I call it! Youre just selfish! Im not here. Youre insensitive! Im not here. Youre a coward! Im not here. You're rude just plain boring!! Im not here. You cant let this go on forever!!! Im. Not. Here. You dare spew your false peace at the one who will represents your connections to this universe!?! Im not here.

Trails

The tails we tell ourselves To make ourselves feel warmth. restart with goodnight then we've changed. We believe the lies we tell ourselves Need those tails to tell ourselves hugs. Kisses jumps before you sleep. All emotional thrills the truth we never seek.

The truth is cold sharp and it kills even if the truth is supposed to heal.
The truth never matters the lie was the big deal. We take only what we feel is necessary to carry, but we never take We take only what we feel is necessary to carry. But we never take what is needed to care. The tails others tell us are selfish unnecessary selfish lies. To keep us docile. Denial is our friend and regret is always rescheduled, Our minds are beautiful. They without command push the truth so far back that years of denial becomes a padded lock. It's those who face the truth that dont have smiles or parties.

The honest, the downer, the hated, the ones who say nothing, do nothing, just walking through life not messing with anyone. Only to be met with contempt. Why? Because the truth is in our walk, head up and eyes straight, its in our voice calm and direct. Not a leader but they follow, Not a talker but they ask for a speech.

Overlooked

Overlooked-by Dominique Smith

Can you cry the ocean so those in need can come over with a boat? No but I ca- Can you fix a window with the scraps of band-aid? No, But I ca- Can you burn like the paddles who can bring life back to the barren waste land?! No but I ca- Do you know the future is going to be bright because the sun will be blocking the fear of those with their eyes closed!? No but I ca- I have had enough!

Who are you? Why cant you speak!? Can take the acid and razors to the back door so only the weak will prevail!? Can you take the smoke from a factory pull it into the lungs of the ratchet!? Can you put the bullet from a misfire to the right target? Left hand up right leg to the dirt. Have the tragedy of the unknown really come forth to tell us the last site of humanity? Can you bring the head of the insightful to tears with nothing more mere gesture of your eye? Well, no but I ca- Im not done! Can you regrow the heart lost to those who have fought? They have fought for those spitting in their homes that will never get the dired poison out of the carpet of rage?

Well? Speak! Speak! Where .... where are you? A note found on the drift of the air " I cant fight, I can't cure, I cant bring life into the dead condition of those have been washed with acid, I cant pray or study enough to bring the blood to the living in the beds of the damned. I can however love, listen, encourage, remind those who are lost that life isnt a trial for people who are

Sit down

Sit down - by Dominique Smith

Sit down! Sit yo ass down! You need to chill. What happened!? Whatever it is it's your fault. Because I see you as a problem with no solution. No one is looking at you. Sure try and say( hi) They'll think you have an attitude. You say nothing and you have a bad mood.

Sit down somewhere maybe you'll blend in, No not there, that has people. No not there either they don't know you. Smile! No not like that, you look like a murderer! Omg just sit down! Why are you shaking?! You're too old for this ! Damnit pull it together and sit down. You look lost and stupid! This is why you got what you got as a kid. You cant go home now! You just got here! You're too sweaty! For sake smile!!! HEY! shut the up!

You're doing great. Just pick a spot and sit down. You look amazing and you're the one In control. Remember that you are great. I love you so much, you make you're own sunshine! Now take your seat and sit down.

Sun

Sun has made its big grand entrance. Great right? Right? RIGHT?! No, sun is something that happens by nature, Yes but its just beautiful outside, right? No, WHY!? Beautiful things get destroyed by things that are natural and made from mixed up atoms. The sky is clear so go a head ruin that. No, the sky is clear to see those who have places to be to those who never have to look down. The world is- Burning. But this day is nice an- No. What now!? The day is to each their own. Like a sneeze you might miss your soul coming out so there's never garentee a bless you.

The temperature is perfect! No way to that up! Am I the cloud that you dont see? The helicopter lifting the sick to the hospital? Or maybe im the ones on the floor on the streets you refuse to acknowledge? This "maine character " is the only way to not say peace out the grid. You are impossible!!

No, i believe you are in your bubble and im outside the globe looking down shaking my head. Close your eyes and dont trust your ears, youre hungry yes! But can you trust your food ? Thats why they say ignorance is bliss, because when you were never raised to see roses as anything but thorns with petals you see everything all the time, you dont get to be ignorant even when you really want to. Its not a fault to see the sun and know that the earth is dying, to see a beautiful day an know that war, hunger, greed and selfishness are at the top one percent of s given. Its a fault to ignore those facts and keep contributing to the horror.

Pull the thread

Pulling the thread - Dominique Smith

Go a head ,Do it. You can, no one has to know. You could keep it to yourself, so go on. Make yourself pull that thread, What would happen? Would the world implode? Would your garments become fragile? Would the game become more specific?

Have a good time, pull the thread. Make life easier. Good morning, pull the thread. Now, break the strings intertwined with the shackles on your emotional performance. There right there pull the thread. Peel back the scab, Fogged head. Calm the purple skies of clothed hatred. The thread is loosening, pull it. Your embarrassment will be hidden. But what will happen?

Moths have come and taken interest, Gnats would be spread. The old will rewash the silks and the cotton, The new will become filth and serve as a carrier for hate.
