i want more

i want a romance like one of a fairytale plot 
to feel like the catch though already caught 
i yearn for sweet nothings and surprise flowers 
& a love that stretches like an endless hour

i crave a desire more than skin deep- one that seeps into your bones   
i am a hopeless romantic in love with a cynic 
i am drowning while he hordes the life raft for him alone

i don’t think that i’m happy but i can’t pinpoint why 
i try to clear my jumbled thoughts and just want to cry 
one sided conversations- do my thoughts not matter? 

i try to reciprocate with a silent nod or disinterested grunt 
but my heart and mind can’t keep up the front 

i care about every thought, quirk, idea, and trait 
i need someone that cares just the same
