Melissa Poulton Poem
2024 was the first time in over two decades.
First time that I didn’t watch any of Eurovision.
The pop and the rock, the costumes and things.
Watching people dress differently and sings.
With my conscious, I couldn’t watch it.
Including a country like the state of Israel.
The Israeli government are not fit to stand.
Removing Israel should have been first to hand.
Russia and Belarus were removed straight away.
For invading Ukraine and killing innocent people.
Why not Israel for killing innocent Palestinian lives?
Using much more weapons than guns and knives.
There is no pride in genocide is something I say.
No freedom for all until everyone is truly free.
Eurovision is part of the problem not the truth.
Even if they try and spin it like American Babe Ruth.
We need to stand and fight for the people of Gaza.
There is power in numbers and power is strong.
Boycotting Eurovision was hard for a person like me.
Yeah I did it because of the power that you can see.

Melissa Poulton Poem
Today, I woke as a beautiful butterfly.
Completely transformed from the creature before.
I slowly hid from my surroundings.
Now I can fly from one place to the next place.
The transformation process took ages.
To look like this, it was worth it in the end.
The metamorphosis from that thing to this beauty.
The eyes under the wings that make predators aware.
The face that shows everyone who I have become.
Showing the world that no one can keep this fighter hidden.
It took years to show the world the new me, the true me.
I am going to tell anyone that wants to listen to my roar.
My legs have changed, and my wings are in full bloom.
The color purple everywhere across my body and wings.
Going over fields and through many towns and cities.
I, the most beautiful butterfly this world has ever created.
