Nicki Biggs Poem
The sky was blue, a beautiful day.
The sun sparkled bright on the water beyond.
She sat in the grass, admiring the display.
She wondered if there were fish in the pond.
Grey marble lined up in long, even rows.
Names and dates, husband, father, brother, son,
Wife, mother, sister, daughter; all of those.
She was still breathing but their lives were done.
Memories flood her mind like never before.
For twenty years they shared a life and love.
She lay on the grass, read his name once more,
With thoughts of him looking down from above.
I guess you know how much I still love you.
One day I’ll be there, to stroll heaven, too.

Nicki Biggs Poem
The sun rises up,
Then the clouds move in.
Heavy with drops,
Soon the rain would begin.
It’s wild at first,
With lightning flashes,
Then the thunder,
With booms and clashes.
It moves quickly by,
The high winds blow.
Then it calms,
As if to know
We need a break,
From the summer sun.
We want to play
And have some fun.
Under the trees
We make up games,
Freed from the heat
By the cool summer rains.

Nicki Biggs Poem
Yesterday I saw someone
That reminded me of you.
My heart didn’t remember
But my head I knew,
That you’re not here.
It’s just another reverie review.
The way you turned your head,
Or that little wink and smile.
How you could warm
My heart and all the while,
Hold my hand in yours
Mile after mile.
If you were deep in thought
You’d scratch your chin.
When you were mischievous
You had a silly grin.
And when I can’t sleep
My reverie review kicks in.
Just a little reverie review
For the one I dream of.
A little reverie review
For my sweetheart above.
A little reverie review
For the one I love.

Nicki Biggs Poem
I pray for you to save a friend.
I pray to you, a means to an end.
My bills are paid, my need are met.
Can you help me get out of debt?
But I go on, only now and then
I think twice, until finally, when
Life seems so fragile,
I seek you before I unravel.
I painted on a a brave face.
But it melts away in light of your grace.
So now I turn to you anew,
Praying your mercy will ensue.
The circumstance that brought me here,
Could easily fill me with terror and fear.
But what does my faith say of me then?
No, I can’t let that old devil win!
I dig deep for that “True Grit”
And get ready to make a fight of it.
And whatever happens, whatever my fate,
I’ll look for you at the Pearly Gate.

Nicki Biggs Poem
Leaving all
Others behind.
Visualize it; two people beginning
Each day with one another.

Nicki Biggs Poem
He struggled so for many days
And even years in many ways.
Sometimes it all became a haze,
Until life seemed just a chore
And so, it ends; he breathes no more.
But I know he smiled at heaven's door.
Sometimes I hear him laugh and turn to see
But he's not there it's only me
Remembering how things used to be.
Did I say I love you enough, did you know?
I wish I'd said it more before you had to go.
Every day I think of you, I loved you so.
But I'll dream of you on streets of gold
Talking with friends new and old,
And your joy when Jesus you behold!
Oh, how we try to plan,
To be prepared if we can
And all because we are human.
In a moment we join the heavenly hosts
And find ourselves on Jordan's Coast,
Meeting the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
He is healed now; I know that's true.
There is no pain beyond the blue,
And i will go there one day too.
For now, I rejoice with happy tears
That we could share so many years,
And I face the future absent of fears.
